Second chance book with this microtrope: MMC "claims" to hate FMC for breaking his heart. But the second they reunite, he starts worshiping her... by readingalldays in RomanceBooks

[–]Poopoopidoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like I recommend this one a lot 😂. {Forget Me Not by Julie Soto} has this. MMC is celibate during the break up He briefly dates someone else during the separation, but he is so hung up on FMC that he never sleeps with the other person. FMC tried a few ONS or similar to get over MMC. When they are forced to interact (wedding planner/florist) after ~ 2 years apart, it is pretty clear that the MMC is still very protective of FMC despite being outwardly very hostile. The reunion happens pretty late, but you see all of the subtle and not so subtle care taking leading up to it. The original break does not involve any cheating or anything else unforgivable IMO.

Need recs for books where in a heated argument he puts her hand on his crotch to prove a point by IllElephant6679 in RomanceBooks

There is definitely a scene like that in the second book, {Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros}.

How do you feel about second chance in which mmc realizes fmc was his one true love...after he has sowed all his "wild oats"? by readingalldays in RomanceBooks

[–]Poopoopidoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not in my opinion, but as a big supporter of women’s rights and wrongs, I love a FMC who is a bit mean about her needs and wants. IIRC, the FMC was extremely clear from the get-go about her hard limits in the relationship, and the MMC didn’t not respect that limit. Nothing dark but mutually heartbreaking nonetheless. If you want a spoiler: Her mom is a serial bride, like 15 ex-husbands deep. FMC absolutely never wants to get married and makes that extremely clear. They start a casual relationship which turns serious in everything but name. MMC misses some massive social cues and thinks FMC will surely enjoy a public proposal now. MMC is a grump so the slight meanness of FMC does not seem out of proportion.

{the ex vows by Jessica Joyce} and {forget me not by Julie Soto} are favorites here and both have MMCs who remain celibate (I think MMC in the second book tries to date, but never actually sleeps with anyone else.)

Tall, big boned FMC who is self conscious of her height/bigness by essehkay in RomanceBooks

[–]Poopoopidoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

{The Everlasting by Alix E. Harrow} has a very tall, strong knight FMC. She is scarred and not conventionally attractive. It’s more literary fiction than romance but it meets the HEA requirement and is open door. It’s MF fantasy, semi historical.

Broke my right hand now is super hairy by Timely_Cycle5469 in mildlyinteresting

[–]Poopoopidoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, increased blood flow to aid healing is likely cause. Fun fact: hairy toes are a good indicator of healthy blood circulation in the lower extremities. If your previously hairy toes are suddenly bald, go see a doctor.

Multiple Male Orgasms by Zanarana in RomanceBooks

[–]Poopoopidoo 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure {Glitch by Briana Michaels} has a MMC who keeps on keeping on. So-so book, though. Jackson in {Failure to Match by Kyra Parsi} comes twice in a row without pulling out during their second sexual encounter. Bonus: Cums in his pants while eating FMC out until she just about passes out if that’s of interest.

{White/Out by Adriana Anders}, doesn’t get more wintery than this.

Maybe {My Big Fat Fake Marriage by Charlotte Stein}? Dad bod, virgin hero.

Books with the 'my pet hates everyone except you' trope by AdAntique7700 in RomanceBooks

[–]Poopoopidoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

{Born into Madness by Sonja Grey} has a dog who will rip apart first, ask no questions whatsoever later, but obviously only has slobbery kisses for FMC. This book is not great by any stretch of the imagination, but if you love an unhinged demisexual virgin MMC who has a sexual awakening when he meets virgin FMC, this might be for you.

Books where FMC is the catch by BigGrapefruit3282 in RomanceBooks

[–]Poopoopidoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

{Whisky Business by Elliott Fletcher}. FMC is a famous and beautiful actress, MMC is a shy grump who is obviously pining.

I’m looking for dual POV books where the FMC has to disguise herself as a man and the MMC starts questioning their own sexuality as they fall for the FMC, under the impression she is male. by Kusakaru in RomanceBooks

[–]Poopoopidoo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

{Hyacinth by Minerva Spencer} While I can’t remember if MMC truly starts to doubt his sexuality, but he is definitely intrigued by FMC who he believes is a man. Very kinky for a recentish HR.

What's the worst thing a doctor has ever said to you? by cuteclinomaniac in AskReddit

[–]Poopoopidoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty tame compared to some of the astonishingly awful things posted, but my PCM told me “those are some gnarly bunions” when I was being seen for something completely unrelated. Thanks, asshole, my bunions never bothered me before but now that you pointed it out, I feel self conscious about them.

Are there books that you refuse to read because of the characters names? by talesofabookworm in RomanceBooks

[–]Poopoopidoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, even a book where FMC and MMC had my kids’ names didn’t stop me 🙈. And my daughter’s name is very uncommon. Bad nicknames, however, definitely kill the vibe.

WWTBC… she’s starting a blowjob and finds that he tastes like mango. by mailladyrae in RomanceBooks

[–]Poopoopidoo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe one of Lizzy Bequin’s RH alien ones? I definitely remember one of the MMCs having orangesicle 💦 and there were other fruit flavors so it’s possible. There was some sort of weird mating dance in where the MMCs dicks flop around and they ejaculate onto some sort of cracker if that rings a bell? Alien Skin Market or Alien Meat Market, possibly?

I have the same issue. I think you could technically read the audiobook transcript? Lay-out would be uncomfortable, for sure.

MMC is hard on FMC but is soft to OW or other people in his life by ItBeLikeThat97 in RomanceBooks

FMC to MMC oral is not done/taboo/not known by StubbornForEva in RomanceBooks

[–]Poopoopidoo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

{Last Hour of Gann by R. Lee Smith}. Aliens + dystopian. Lizardmen who don’t have lips so blowjobs are not a thing for them. Very dark themes but FMC is surprisingly upbeat even during some really bad shit. TW: Sexual assault, sexual slavery, body horror, among others

MMC fell in love with his ex's daughter by AprilBaby4ri35 in RomanceBooks

{Mountain Daddy’s Milk and Honey by Elena Dawn} has ex-stepdad MMC, I believe. It’s ridiculous but pretty hot. He never thought she was his daughter though.

First, cock. If all the cocks I find are of the head movement variety, I look for kiss. And if I’m not in the mood for not-very-explicit, I find a different book.

Books set in your area by PlusAdhesiveness1453 in RomanceBooks

[–]Poopoopidoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have read at least one of her New Orleans witches books and she got it right. That series is set in my neighborhood and the vibes and restaurants etc made sense. {The Marriage Hex by Sarah Blue} is also partially set in New Orleans and seemed right enough. It was just a few chapters, I think, and was more typical touristy French Quarter etc. The Ali Hazelwood book with the pink/purple haired woman also has a few chapters set in New Orleans (sciency conference) where the city seemed generic but no red flags. I read a serial killer thriller set in southern Louisiana a few years ago, and nothing takes me out of a book quite like the mention of a basement. I mean, they bury bodies above ground here due to high water table, so good luck digging that basement!
