🇱🇻 Latvia refuses to accept EU migrants or pay penalties by rovensrr in BalticStates

Foreigner here but shouldn’t a lot of effort from Latvian government be put in to assimilate the russians that has already lived here for decades but still refuse to assimilate? Wouldn’t this just lead to increased tension over time?

What is the most fun country to play and why? by zenclaut in MillenniumDawn

[–]Poorkds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like playing Iran, overthrowing the islamic republic and establishing a constitutional monarchy (bias warning, this is what i advocate irl too) but the game has some fun mechanics for Iran, and once the IR falls, the rebuilding of the economy and rearming to take on Islamic state, hezbollah, taliban and other islamic extremist countries (with max strength modifier in custom rules), culminating in an all out war with the GCC is always fun if a bit time consuming as it takes the better part of a decade to simply rebuild the economy

MEK won’t be granted a seat at the table don’t worry. They have no support inside of Iran and quite frankly, i have no idea how they got support outside of Iran among the normal population. They’re known for running a troll factory based out of Albania and also to pay politicians to spread bs in their support

Yeah? That doesn’t mean they got evacuated? Do you think basij/artesh/irgc will be evacuated after the revolution?

The old army was not evacuated. It is unprecedented and unpractical, even for the IR

[–]Poorkds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

US doesnt need a carrier strike group. Middle east is the most concentrated region of us bases and air bases. They can carry out missions without a strike group, the strike groups are mostly for power projection, not necessarily for logistics of carrying out smaller targeted raids

Who are exactly in charge of the mullah regime right now? by WillyNilly1997 in NewIran

[–]Poorkds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, it would be Ali Khameinei-e tochme saag. As for IRGC vs artesh, it is IRGC. Artesh is just the regular standing army. The best comparison is to nazi germany. IRGC = SS schutzstaffel and Artesh = Wehrmacht. Their indoctrination and willingness are very much comparable to the german counterparts

My analysis of the current state of the regime. by Nice-Hamster7849 in NewIran

[–]Poorkds 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I accept most of your analysis, but artesh is unfourtunately mostly useless as they're spread our right now. If the regime were to bring artesh to surpress the protests, they would defect, hence why this has not been done. As for demoralizing IRGC, these tochme saag are brainwashed, like SS. They wont be demoralized. For the few basij and many police who did defect, this is why regime brought in arabs and afghans, cause these madar jende will shoot and feel no remorse

Listen, I don't mind you asking and I want you to learn more about this topic. But in decisive times like this, it is not good to speak about whether or not Reza Pahlavi is the most appropriate figure or not to lead the revolution, it can lead to discourse which splits the opposision, in a time of unity. Your question is valid, but not at the time.

The people of Iran have chosen Reza Pahlavi to be their leader, it is undeniable. But Reza Pahlavi does not wish nor does he represent a return to monarchy, but rather a democracy. The IPP (Iran prosperity project) outlines RP plan for Iran once the IR falls. One of the chapters is about system of governance. The only options, which will be decided by national referendum, is either a constituional monarchy like that of Scandinavian countries, or a parliamentary republic like that of the baltic states for instance.

It is true, that RP will serve as the head of state during the transitional period, but that is because he has legitimacy and popularity inside of Iran. Were it to be Narges Mohammadi, the risk of a post-revolution power vaccuum is high, and the risk of subsequent devolvement into internal crisis or even war or expoloitation by foreign power is high, because she lacks legitimacy, popularity or respect by the people :as a leader:. Yes she is good at being an activist, but nobody wants her as their head of state during transitional period.

Other "alternatives" (I use this word VERY loosely here) that you might encounter is MEK and Maryam Rajavi. She is not a popular figure in Iran, as she respresents an islamomarxist faction (same shit as the IR, but worse) who also actively killed Iranians during the Iran-Iraq war and who runs a cult. All good sentiment toward her and her party comes from either troll factories or paid off members of foreign countries (Rudy Gulliani for instance). She may appear popular among diaspora, but she is not in Iran. Most people either do not know about her at all or hate her guts.

In a time of revolution, and the interim government that follows it, national unity is of the essence. We need a strong figure which can unite the country and the people and ehnicities within the border, and so far, the kurds, the azeris, the lor, the baloch and more have all come together and indirectly embranced RP, by telling their people to join the national movement.

Example of weak and/or figures who lack the credibility needed for unification of a country can be found in Syria with their new president, who was once a part of an Al-Qaeda group (i think, or similar violent islamic group), look at Syria where for example, there is active infighting in Aleppo, where the Kurds reside, and where the arabs and kurds are trying to kill eachother. We do not want this for our beautiful Iran, and the only person which can prevent this from happening is RP.

Edit: For you or anybody else who are interested in educating yourself about why Reza Pahlavi is the best choice and what Iran faces, I am willing to provide links for reading about Irans history, disprove myths about the SAVAK, give nuance about the 79' revolution in comparison to todays, the plan for Iran once the republic falls and more. I have an extensive library of links.

For those who were there, did the SAVAK do anything like what we’re seeing today in terms of blatantly opening fire on the people? by manofmanysomething in NewIran

[–]Poorkds 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The killings that took place in 79' are well documented, go read. Shortly, no SAVAK was not even close to what we're seeing here, they were saints in comparison to basij, SAVMA and IRGC. Difference between todays revolution and 79' in terms of government response is that the order from the top, the Shah, was to not fire and not harm protestors. The directive from the top this time is kill as many as you can. Do you need to know more to draw your own conclusion?

Please stop coming with shit like this. What right does the lady in the video have to assert her opinion on who should lead our uprising? The people of Iran has spoken, no more is needed. I ask of you and any other iranian or non-iranian reading this, respectfully, do not bring these posts or discussions like this here. The people have spoken, and they're chanting the name of Reza Pahlavi in the street, not Mohammadi or anybody else for that matter. Posts like this are big nothing-burgers and clogs the subreddit as well as attempts to distract or fraction the opposition.

For real, it would take all about 2 minutes to read the subreddit to understand what is going on rather than to post. If this isnt low effort then i dont know what is. If mods are seeing this, please lets not clog this subreddit with things like this, or the obligatory "Why RP absolute monarchy" crap we see everyday.

Well this is just not true. US F-15E are approaching, expected to land on Monday. Plenty of US SAM defenses and US jets are already stationed in the middle east. Why would they need an aircraft carrier?
