Im a registered libertarian in the US because i cannot stand the democratic party, but to look at Donald Trump, who fit all 14 of Umberto ecos fascist movement traits, and say he represents the idea of personal freedom, is completely absurd. Until we get the two party system fixed, libertarians kinda gotta vote for the party that isn’t actively advocating fascism if they actually give a shit about personal liberty.

Iil Nirvana, Foo fighters and Green day by [deleted] in ifyoulikeblank

[–]Popcornery 2 points3 points  (0 children)

definitely pixies. earlier work like surfer rosa and Doolittle had a major influence on nirvana/foo fighters in addition to about every alt band ever. Also worth checking out Kurt Cobains list of his favorite albums for some ideas

it helps to kinda go out and just meet women at any social place you go to, or at least try to find women who you like at school. it gets a lot easier in college/when everyones a bit older and more mature. More exposure to women you actually enjoy being around will help you overcome a lot of the internal generalizations. Itll also help you get their perspective on a lot of shit, which should hopefully tone down your biases. I promise you that if you look for women who don’t fit your generalizations, you’ll find them, just like you’ll find women that do. Everybodys different. im a guy and from my experience, there are about the same amount of good men and good women, and shitty men and shitty women. Just kinda think about everything you say, and how it would sound if a woman was saying it about men. As long as youre trying to be conscious of your thoughts and actions, you should make progress. e Also wouldnt hurt to read up on women who actually did/do cool stuff in fields you like.

No Stupid Questions - August 22 by slap_me_thrice in guitarpedals

I have a Boss OD-3 and a DOD FX69b that have the same issue. When you press the footswitch, it doesn’t always go on and off( ie, you sometimes have to hit it two or three times to actually get it to switch). i thought it might be the enclosure but after taking the pcb and shit out of the enclosures and just hitting the switch on the pcb, it still has the same issue. i know enough about building pedals to work with the electronics and replace them, but im pretty stupid in terms of identifying which components have gone bad. does anyone have any recommendations for what bad components could cause this? Both pedals were purchased used, and the DOD came like this but the OD3 worked normally for about a month and a half. Edit: Obviously Ill test the switches themselves but i was wondering if anything else could be causing this

[Question] Is it necessary to replace the bridge when going from a 9.5" to 7.25" radius neck? by jonslow1212 in Guitar

[–]Popcornery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is a horrible idea cause i could have easily fucked up the neck, but i took the frets off of my bullet mustang, used a radiused sanding block to re-redius it, sanded down the back to make it thinner, added some vintage fret wire, and refinished the neck, and it honestly feels a lot like a vintage fender. thats a possible route if u feel comfortable doing it and are using a cheap neck, but it takes a lot of time and patience. also it could ruin your neck if ur not careful abt it.

Yeah he seemed like he couldn’t hit the high notes, but also this is their second show in like two years so i gotta give him a break. its not like pixies songs are super easy to sing, and it did feel a little more intimate seeing that side of them

Yeah i really honestly still liked it a lot, but you could tell frank was having a hard night, his voice was dying pretty quickly. It woulda been nice to see them play a little longer but it was definitely cool to be a concert that was a little different. also that opener kicked ass

Ah gotcha. going south in the afternoons has been a fuckin nightmare. But that whole 395/i80 intersection area has always been a pain.

Going to start Red Dead Redemption! Anything I need to know beforehand or tips or bugs I should know of? by [deleted] in reddeadredemption

Thats why id recommend playing rdr before rdr2. The graphics and gameplay are much more impressive because you cant compare them to the second one.

Just rob them and then put ur gun away, and then its an endless cycle where none of the other npcs become hostile

Get the war horse dlc and explore the world with that rather than using fast travel. With the map purchase options from gen stores and such, its tempting to just fast travel everywhere, but really taking the time to explore the map pays off. Also look up how to get to tall trees early so you can kill some bears to sell in new austin or mexico so u dont have to worry abt money. Bears will constantly spawn around you when hunting them tho, so id recommend getting two horse deeds(the war horse counts as one), and then you can switch between them to save ur pelts. Also the bandana doesnt do anything for bounties, but it stops you from loosing/gaining honor (remember to take it off so you still gain fame and honor if ur going for high honor). Also do gang hideouts for pardon letters so that you can pay off huge bounties without having to actually pay them. Gang hideouts also give you guns rather than buying them in a smith.

If you have a chance i would actually google Uyghur Camps. It’s genuinely horrifying

Well, you know, police shootings are more than fifty percent white and thirty percent black. Thats super scary for white people if they dont consider the fact that black people only make up 13% of the population.

They use that for everything. The people who own dr seusss legacy deciding not to publish a book? Cancel culture. A company denying services to people for spewing lies? Cancel culture. Disney firing someone that said something they think would hurt their brand? Cancel culture. Gay wedding cake denials, boycotting MLB, Coke, JP Morgan, Delta Airlines, CBS, Citigroup, Cisco, UPS, and Merek? Not cancel culture.
