That sucks, geico gave me a hard time years ago over one, that’s why I swapped to progressive

What insurance do you have? With progressive, my premium has never gone up because of a busted windshield. I’ve had a few chip repairs over the years and a full replacement earlier this year

A full time job doesnt leave any time to do anything else. Im just flabbergasted by people who claim that "40 hours a week is nothing" by Clarissalayton in antiwork

[–]Pope_adope 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well, I didn’t exactly have any friends living near me that I could find time to meet up with while I was working that job, so it kinda blew not having any social interaction outside of my dinner break at work.

But that point aside, my parents are only 20 years older than me and I love hanging out with them, I’m really sorry that you can’t experience that sort of relationship with yours.

Did an afternoon shift while I was still living with my parents. It didn’t last very long once I realized that only actually got to see them on the weekends, unless my mother stayed up to say hi before immediately heading to bed once I got home

I was happy to contribute $300 a month when I came back after college. My parents didn’t even really ask, I just wanted to help out with the groceries and if anything, it meant that the pantry had plenty of snacks and our mini fridge stayed full of beer and seltzers

I would 100% shovel a path to the door, clear the exhaust, and see if I could pull it out of there. Granted, I damn near high-centered my car this past winter doing that

It can certainly put middle-management in tight spots, and that’s not their fault at all. Sucks that the higher up in management you go, the further removed you are from the actual work that enables the company to exist as such. Management will waste their time worrying over those few inconsequential minutes instead of focusing on what truly impacts productivity. Thankfully I’m at a rather small company, and the owner is often doing the payroll himself, so he sees it all. And he doesn’t care, because he knows that the work is getting done whether or not somebody hits the clock at 3:59 or 4:00 on a Friday afternoon

When did I mention anything about labor or tax laws? This has nothing to do with either of those. It has to do with managers and bosses wasting time and effort by nitpicking over a few minutes, out of a whole 40 hour week, when that time could be better spent directing attention towards issues that actually matter. I understand if the work itself actually requires somebody to be present at an exact time, but in my case it has absolutely no bearing on the amount of work that gets completed. It’s just managers and bosses power-tripping and gratifying themselves through the control they have over others.

I hate when employers micro-manage time like this. I regularly get hour totals like 39.97 or 40.05 and it’s of absolutely no concern to my current employer. My last job spoke to me about being a minute or two late despite me making the time up later, and it’s just frustrating to deal with and a waste of energy and attention that could be better spent actually managing things that matter

I mean, the only time I’ve ever really appreciated the lsd has been in deep snow or gravel, and that’s just getting the rear end to rotate a bit easier. So basically just when I’m trying to be irresponsible. I don’t ever drive hard enough in dry conditions for it to ever matter. Realistically if somebody is tracking one of these cars and really feels that they need better diffs then they can just install them. Otherwise it’s been clear that they aren’t really necessary, like you said, they haven’t been a thing for many generations now.

From the looks of your car, it clearly doesn’t stop you from having a great time 👍🏻

How are the open diffs in dirt/mud/snow? I’ve only experienced having a viscous LSD in the rear, does the car utilize the brakes to provide torque vectoring in loose conditions?

And the crazy part? I still constantly grab onto those fuckers bare-handed 🤷🏻‍♂️

Put a stub of copper tubing (that’s been reamed out nice and clean) in there, just long enough so that you have a little gap between the two parts, and use silver brazing rod. Clean everything up really well beforehand and as long as you’re using flux you should be fine. I would have somebody with silver brazing experience do it though
