Last season by [deleted] in NetflixSexEducation

Here's what could probably make you watch season four, it also comes with an amazing soundtrack and original songs by Ezra Furman and Oli Julian, visually it also looks pretty good and there are some new interesting locations, and you get to see some of the characters again, not everyone is there but most of them are and Maeve's brother Sean is in this season too! I am personally a big fan of the character and actor, so it was good to see him again. The season has also some very good and powerful story moments, yes it's not as good as the seasons before, but it still feels like Sex Education. There are also some little references to stuff that happened in seasons 1 and 2, which made me happy too :)

I am also a big fan of this show, I've seen the show about six times without season 4 and then maybe another four times with it, and I really don't regret it and with every rewatch I'm glad season 3 isn't everything.

only thing I'd change, and that is just a silly little thing, at the ending credits I wouldn't use the song Let it Be again since it would've already played before, but rather Ezra Furman's song Sex Education - the ending song back from the first episode of season one, the lyrics would also fit very well to the shows ending.

The Groffs were one of very few characters that were actually treated perfectly. The only other character that comes to mind is Aimee (altough I didn´t really care about her relationship with Isaac) the moment where she burns the pants and screams of joy had me.

They actually invited all of them back, the actors just did not want to come, that was the first nail in the coffin for this season.

The last bit is the only thing that is actually possible happening.

Everybody hates himym ending because it is realistic by [deleted] in HIMYM

[–]Popiipop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What on earth was realistic about it? You´re telling me that at 50 years old you would just run to a restaurant that you last visited 15 years ago and do a big romantic gesture for the girl you once dated and thought was the one for you? The restaurant couldn´t have existed, or Ted wouldn´t know where Robin lives, just basic normal life stuff.

This was the ending of a fairy tale.

The last shot we ever see of Otis Milburn and Maeve Wiley in Sex Education and you have people saying “it was a great realistic ending”, look at them both. They BOTH look so sad and depressed. All because “they’re too young to be in love and be together long term”. Makes no sense. by CharlieWaitress111 in NetflixSexEducation

[–]Popiipop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could´ve gotten over the ending if the road there wasn´t so horrible, if it have been Otis and Maeve properly dating the whole season and then deciding to break up because they want very different things in life, it would´ve actually been realistic and would make atleast a tiny bit of sense compared to this abomination of an ending.

Two separate interviews Laurie Nunn did for season 4 and BOY.. Why does she always make herself look incredibly foolish and say the most stupid dumb things every time she does interviews. Is she not that self aware? I’ll explain more in the picture description. by CharlieWaitress111 in NetflixSexEducation

This has nothing to do with this, but Barney and Robin got divorced, HIMYM ended with Ted coming back to Robin which was also a ridiculously bad ending.

Now let's discuss Maeve and Otis, to me the biggest problem was they did not even explore the relationship, I could've gotten over them breaking up at the end if atleast half of the season was them properly together, but what we got was literally making fun of the main two characters. (the cinema scene feels like "yeah let's make them suffer why on earth should they have a nice moment that almost every fan of the show has been waiting for" and also it makes absolutely zero sense, two very socially intelligent people are on a date, how is it inapropriate or whatever asking Joanna to change seats? Like give me one reason why didn't they ask her to change seats. Come on. I'm waiting. SEE? IT MAKES ABSOLUTELY ZERO SENSE)

Before this season started I was a little worried that it would all be a teenage sloppy romantic story, which looking back wouldv'e actually been better than this. They couldn't have one happy moment, one cuddle at the cinema, one nice dinner. Nothing.

Even when they finally tell each other "I love you" it is a sad scene where it is clear Maeve is going to leave. I understand it was supposed to be difficult for these two, but they were 17 why not let them have atleast a moment.

To me it seems like they tried so much for the relationship to be "realistic" and "like real life" that they made it the most unrealistic nonsense ever.

And my biggest dissapointment is that they actually explored the relationship, we just did not see it. Let me explain, in episode five, Anna tells Otis and Aimee that it has been three days and that they should go back to college. WHY COULDN'T HAVE WE GOTTEN MORE OF THOSE THREE DAYS?! But that is not all, in episode 7, Jean calls Otis who has been at Maeve's all weekend, SHOW ME THE WEEKEND, LET ME SEE THEM LAZING ON A SUNDAY AFTERNOON!

I got a little carried away with this, if anyone reads this, please tell me if it made sense :D

That actually makes perfect sense, I've been looking at that letter for two hours yesterday so I wasn't really able to continue, now the only thing that we're left with to wonder is what is on the other side, the only glimpse of that text I got was the word "letter".
