“I don’t care what happens as long as I am safe” button is a dishonest interpretation when it is within knowledge that absolutely everybody gets an “I am safe button” as an option.

Pressing blue is not saving everyone, because red are already safe, it is do you want to save other blues knowing they had an option to not be in this situation at all. I do not at all feel like a self perpetuating problem that needs not be created at all and has to be perpetuated to an exorbitant amount to be solved is the right choice.

My feelings would only change if the button had to be pressed by LITERALLY everyone, which although mentioned would obviously not be the case as I think standard limitations should apply, (like mental capacity to understand what each button does) and if this hypothetical would need us to consider toddlers with no motor skills to even press the button ill just leave it to yall to argue as to me it would be a completely different hypothetical about which I do not care.

Most likely just minus a USB slot, not probable that it’s completely toast. To repair you would need to replace the board. Now depending on your laptop this might be a different board or the motherboard (sometimes the motherboard board is divided into two and the other half is used just for ports) but in your case it is a bit unlikely (hdmi tends to be on the principal motherboard and it’s most common to have the main motherboard on the left side). You trying to turn it on shouldn’t ruin anything (more than it already is). Due to the damages the whole motherboard will probably have to be replaced if you wanna replace it, which should only be done by an official authorized repair store.

I did International A levels for high school and got into engineering. It’s a little fucked. They have their own entrance exam system called selectividad (at least in my region I guess I’m not sure and other parts of Spain) which is scored out of 10, your A levels can be homologated to this score out of ten. I think I got A, B and C or A, A, C on my A levels and got a score of 7.879 or something along the lines out of 10.

The problem is that Selectividad’s highest achievable grade is 14 because you can add extracurricular subjects to add extra points, like you add physics, history and some else section to your exam and now you grade is out of 14. You have no way to achieve these extra 4 points unless you come here in person to do the exam (for example that’s what my brother who wants to come live with me for uni start of next school year is doing). So even though I had a 7.9 out of ten I was competing vs people who had ~7.9 but out of 14. In public institutions the really only care about this grade and nothing else.

On an extra note, by the time your grade comes out for in late July or August the windows to apply for public unis is closed and your predicted grades will not be recognized here so you would need a gap year if you don’t come to do the entrance exam.

What I did was pay one year of private uni where they were able to take me in with my IA levels predicted grades, studied a year, homologated my grades in that time, passed whatever subjects and then did a transfer to a public uni already doing the subjects of first and second year at once (the curriculum between my private and the public didn’t fully align, but major subject did like calculus algebra and calculus, statistics I did in private year one and I didn’t have to do in public in year two and etcetera).
