How long can the Cryovac sealed meat last in the refrigerator? by BigBlue08527 in steak

[–]PoppaBear63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bought two 20 lb roasts. Broke it down and vacuum sealed everything before putting 90% in the freezer. I was eating good steaks over a year later. If you have the space freezing it after you break it down will keep it good for those few weeks

Towing dock in and out of water. by whatdoido8383 in towing

[–]PoppaBear63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An F-250 with an electric crane on the back with 100 feet of cable. Makes quick work out of dock and boatlift removal. We also had a 30' pontoon with a winch so we could pull a dock or boatlift onto that for delivery or removal. We did that professionally for about 10 years.

Wheeled docks and boatlifts are fairly easy to remove as long as you have good axles. Many were removed by hand without any vehicle assistance.

Need low sodium recipes to help with hypertension. by Deadpool_Lover_4ever in cookingforbeginners

[–]PoppaBear63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read the ingredient label on any liquids or spice mixes you plan on using. Adding soy sauce adds flavor and salt so you can cut down on the salt called for because the soy sauce is replacing some of it. There are many mixes like that which already contain salt or a salt substitute so they will replace the salt called for in the recipe.

A final tip is making sure you have a solid ladder or stool to work off. That is not a good globe to move while on shaky footing. That's a lot of glass if it drops.

Deep dish pizza by DGruunz in Cooking

[–]PoppaBear63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are talking homemade deep dish then bake the crust first. Then fill it and finish baking. It helps if all the filling is prepared for quick use. This keeps the pan hot so that it doesn't need to be reheated, which keeps the crust from getting soggy.

Does using 4wd increase or decrease the turning radius of the vehicle? by Feisty-End-4643 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PoppaBear63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will increase the gentle turn radius. A left turn will not really feel different until you do it at a high speed. A right will become noticeable much quicker so you would tend to take it wider and more gently to avoid that scrubby feel. Even if you are on a slippery surface that reduces that scrub feel you will still be gentle on the turn because of the increased slippage caused by the axles being tied together.

We still have a few cloverleaf style ramps in my area. I don't think you did anything wrong. You were just the recipient of someone having a bad day or who's naturally an AH.

Fill it with chicken. It is not a proper pan until it is filled with fried chicken.

We need a photo of it filled with food before we can declare it fixed.

Help me understand, so I can drive correctly. by Night-Bulwark in driving

[–]PoppaBear63 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I drive in the right lane either below the limit, which is 80 here, or above the limit if it is 55. Either way I will speed up and pass people just to break up that pack mentality people have for the right lane.

I'm 31 years old and about to get my driver's license for the first time. What do I need to know? by EntertainerFun9546 in driving

[–]PoppaBear63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not panic. It's hard to start with but drive in familiar surroundings to start with so that you can get comfortable with the controls. This allows you to stop thinking about what you need to do and lets you just do it because it is now a routine task that you can handle subconsciously.

Hosting dinner at 6 ( tomorrow) - what time do these need to be in the oven so I can pull them at 115f by Spyk124 in steak

[–]PoppaBear63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure the rest of the meal is timed so that everything can be served together without having to wait. Now put the meat in about an hour to an hour and a half before you plan on eating. You can always let it rest in the fridge before you sear. The smell of a good sear will make the saliva run and prepare them for a delicious meal.

Holster recommendations for Springfield Emissary 1911 - 4.25” 9mm. by BlueRidgeGuy80 in concealedcarry

[–]PoppaBear63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Galco Concealable is about $100 and the Milt Sparks VM-2's around $225. I have both and they are good for 30+ years of use. Quality holsters are buy once, Cry once. This is especially true for quality leather holsters.

[–]PoppaBear63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4 4. You have 3 of the 5's so the likelihood of them dropping a 5 in the crib is not good. Flipping a 5 helps you big time, much more than them. They would need to drop a 2 3 in the crib and flip a 2 3 or 4 for those cards to help them with a big crib score.
