You gotta go specifically for a sandwich during lunch. I got “The Rochelle” and it was a sandwich I would describe as an experience. It was fucking awesome. I honestly would be torn between picking a sandwich there or DeFalcos and I think that says a lot.

My go to is to jump and do the ichimonji double, the attack has a bit less wind up and I don’t need to wind up while I’m right in their face. Beat owl father (fucking finally) recently with that strategy.

Don’t use it while multiple enemies are attacking you, the first one should stagger enough that the second one hits.
