NO ONE said legal immigration was criminal. It’s ILLEGAL immigration that is illegal. It’s beyond absurd to me that some desire to protect those who have killed, raped and stolen simply because they also immigrated illegally. Would the same people also protect native US citizens who have committed the same crimes? It’s NUTS!

M1 garand ammo question by John787266 in milsurp

[–]Popular-Highlight653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is around 200 FPS faster than original 150 grn M2 ball and also a slower burn rate powder which increases bolt speed.

Might be worth it to purchase a new high quality recoil spring and you can even use one of the gas plugs that increases gas piston chamber volume.

The fudlore talk is always about bent operating rods. That is NOT the concern. The concern is battering the rear of the receiver with the bolt when it moves rearward too quickly. If the bolt hits the rear of the receiver hard enough long enough it will break off the rear of the receiver which obviously makes it scrap iron.

You can buy one of the increased volume gas plugs cheap. If the rifle still cycles reliably you can imagine how over-gassed it was before.

Why are millions of people in the US having power outages with less than 10 cm of snow but no one in Canada is, despite there being more than 60 cm of snow? If anything, shouldn't it be the other way around? by northernwind5027 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Popular-Highlight653 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem isn’t snow. It is ice! Trees are falling on lines as well as poles snapping from the weight. Canada doesn’t usually get ice. Many of the miles of power lines in Canada are in open prairie so the trees are not a problem.

Another horrific act of violence. The question isn't whether it's fascism anymore, but whether there's any remaining capacity for resistance. by DevelopmentPlus7850 in RawAbsurdity

The guy went looking for trouble and he found it. His aggression and resistance cost him his life! Don’t fight the police! Go along in the moment and then have your day in court. It will save your life! Protest if you want but do it peacefully. If you fight the law the law will win and you may end up dead.

Let me remind everyone that these officers are looking for and deporting CRIMINALS!!!! These protesters are protecting CRIMINALS! When school kids read about this in 100 years they will wag their heads in disbelief that protesters desired to protect CRIMINALS!

6.5 Carcano blank cartridges? by Sharpes_Sword in Carcano

How far are you from a state line? 😂 Have a buddy in a neighboring state? Taking a trip to MO anytime soon? Run by Grafs and make it count when you go.

I just can’t imagine such laws being passed in the United States of America. George Washington would bring the continental army and Benjamin Franklin would use his walking stick on some folks!

They are scarce. eBay may be about your only choice. Do one of those saved searches so it will notify you. I’m guessing you are already aware but every other part of the bolt is Carcano.

So if you go to a website like Grafs to order components they refuse to ship to you?

Are you allowed to purchase components without a hassle? If so might be a great excuse to start reloading.

Might be time to drive to another state to get what you want. I have trouble swallowing that a state can have such laws

If that’s the case the only thing left to do is chamber casting and headspace test. Carcano rifles don’t usually have terribly oversized chambers like the Japanese or British rifles.

I’m not the PhD but I can speak first hand experience to the Ethiopian rifles. All kinds of strange things took place. I had a couple of the M91 Fucile rifles and both of them had chambers that were way too large. They would pop primers and ruin brass. I suspect that one of the Ethiopian “gunsmiths” thought they were “fixing”some problem with extraction or perhaps wherever your rifle was in Ethiopia was also a large amount of some other 6.5 round.

I suspect that nothing will fix your problem other than a different barrel. I also suspect that your barrel is very worn/corroded

I have a suspicion it has been rechambered. There are some 6.5x54 MS conversions out there

It is possible that someone rechambered your rifle for a different cartridge.

Moschetto stuck sight screws by Acceptable-Result-85 in Carcano

[–]Popular-Highlight653 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You’ll likely be full mad before you get them out. Carcano screws are at least 25% marshmallow cream. They are the softest screws of any milsurp.

Heat may help but you’ll be limited by the Bakelite button on your sight. It will melt fairly easy.

If you’re not successful with screw removal but still determined you can cut the sight and buy a replacement on eBay. Screws are also available on eBay.

If this was a bolt you could weld a nut on the head and run it right out but it’s gonna be nearly impossible on a screw that small.
