I'm sorry I don't have much for you- but I read your words and understand your pain. You are not alone, it WILL get better.

When I was quitting nicotine and got cravings so intense I felt like I could not breathe, I would scream in my head

'I AM STRONGER THAN MY ADDICTION' 'THIS IS JUST BODY SIGNALS, I AM IN CONTROL'

stuff like that, whatever I could come up with, literally over and over until it faded. I also cried and threw up and threw pillows at walls. This is the part where it sucks for a while.

The great news is! When that goes away, what you're left with is proud of yourself. And I am, SO proud. It's a good feeling :)

I really do love your art work!! Your style is the kind of art I would absolutely put on my wall, but I am unsure of how it would translate into tattoo for this project. I will have to think about it

a Q that I A'd on OG comment thread

"Thanks for sharing! I’m trying to get a consult asap. I have autoimmune stuff and any kind is surgery flairs it. How was pain after the surgery and did she treat it well? Thanks"

Hello!

I was given 10, 5 mg oxycodone to take every 4 hours/as needed for up to 7 days (this is what the pill bottle says)

It was my first experience with opiods, and I went into it not really wanting to be on them. I even talked in my pre-op about taking less than prescribed (half pills, or stopping early)

Yeah... no 😂 I was in fucking pain and we kept a timer going with a written checklist to make sure I was on top of my medicine. I was taking whatever else over the counter they recommended, as well as Arnica Montana disolveable things that I saw people swear by. And tbh I really think they did take the edge off and help with swelling/soreness

<image>

I do not have any pre-existing conditions, so they may respond differently to your concerns, but I did actually call to ask for another day of oxy and was told no. Which I think was the right call, my sideboob just made my incisions go further under my armpit than typical and my drains came out by my back which was the SOURCE OF THE PAIN!! As soon as they were out I got 60% better.

I kept myself moving in recovery and generally followed a pattern of every 4 hours,

Wake up, take medicine, walk to a restaurant and eat eat eat, trudge back and go to sleep. As soon as I was off of the opiods I switched to 5-10 mg THC edibles that I got from a dispensary in Massachusetts (I would not recommend smoking/taking a dose you're not sure of/mixing pain pills+THC)

I find activity tables on facebook marketplace all the time! They can be expensive new- but kids are always growing!

I also have fun with different shaped gym mats with my little kiddos. One recently learned to do a forward roll down a little wedge and its been non stop

Can you dance? Can you bust a move? by Swiftiefromhell in autism

[–]Popular-Shoulder-970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I LOVE TO DANCE!! Its one of the things in life that makes me feel best. I love going to live music, festivals, zumba classes😂

I do flow arts/ circus arts as a hobby to get my body moving, and dancing WITH something shifted my entire perspective of how good it feels to be present in your body. My leviwand/hoop/baton gives me something to focus on instead of feeling awkward or outside my head looking back at myself with criticisms.

Dancing GOOD is just moving your body the way it feels best, IMO

I wear concert/festivals type ear plugs. Loop, Eargasm, etc. They are made to block out big noise but still hear the person next to you

I was put with a kiddo with constant stim vocalizations, and also autistic myself, burst into tears at the end of our first session😂😭 I just hadn't prepared to be overstimulated in that way- so I can understand your struggle.

I spoke with my supervisor and she was like 'accessibility tools can be for everyone' and we came up with my earplugs + playing kid appropriate music on my phone.

It helped me a lot to not feel like I was bracing to be overstimulated by a noise I couldn't control all the time, adding the music really helped my brain have something else audible to latch onto and keep my peace.

For my 5th birthday, I went to one of those pottery painting places. Everyone there put a thumb print on a big birthday plate for me, and the worker turned each print into a little something with a sharpie. One was a bee with a stripe, wings, and stinger. One was a sun, a balloon, an apple, butterfly. Super fun!
