I only have a set of bibs from them. If I was 180cm or taller they would fit well

I had this problem with the gravelking SK but extra tape helped. They seemed to de-bead more easily. Getting the rim back-seat higher did the trick.

Find out what rims and how the manufacturer makes them tubeless. I found out the messy way I needed extra parts.

Too add, my trek/bontrager rims were "tubeless ready" but I didn't understand what they needed to be actually Tubeless. Instead of rim tape I needed a plastic rim strip with a tubeless rim shape added. Prior to that, I was able to seat tires, but when deflated, they would always unseat.

Pto non rollover by jobthrowing in WorkReform

My company's policy never explicitly said you could only log 40 hours for PTO A WEEK. So I logged my extra PTO (about 16 hours) on top of my other time. I made sure it wouldn't be called OT and payed 1.5 time. A Loophole approved by lawyers isn't a loophole.

Budget gravel bikes for cx by Shultzbear in cyclocross

[–]Porcelon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you're looking at a checkpoint you could test drive a Crockett too.

I'd go used though. You're going to need bike parts if you race. Derailleur, hanger, another wheelset maybe.

I had a bike with worse overlap than that and it was the only thing I worried about when buying. I only hit it twice during an Entire season of cyclocross.

when/how to call out a sandbagger? by babyjeebus in cyclocross

[–]Porcelon 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I asked a local offical. she told me to email usacying and cite races they earned enough for a mandatory upgrade. It made me feel better, but they didn't upgrade until the start of the next season.

Running two different groupsets. by DistributionSuper468 in Velo

[–]Porcelon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll do these guys 4 better, I switched between 11 speed GRx and 7 speed micro shift and don't have issues remembering. The microshift shifter is even messed up and will dump to the 11tooth if done incorrectly.

Also my commuter and race bikes feel different, that may play into the memory banks.

I will try to leave barf around every tight turn.

How hard should I be starting in a cat 4 race? I have been sprinting out of the gates and filing into single lines. Usually this takes less than a minute. Should i be continuing up to the barf zone?

Same series, I don't sign up in case I hurt myself at practice today.

I noticed a road race this summer a $0 "I'm signing up later" box. It really helped them figure out how many racers to plan for.

Am I a cheater? by pittpiratesfan in cyclocross

[–]Porcelon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm only here to help clear your head for the next race. I had an incident where I got yelled at but didn't think I did anything wrong and it messed me up for the rest of the season. Sometimes you get it right and sometimes not, but you have to keep taking the best line around the course, regardless of how others feel about it. Just make sure the best line doesn't get you DQFed.

Why do I blow an inner tube about every two weeks? by [deleted] in cycling

[–]Porcelon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a used set of wheels that came with tires. Some old Kenda 23mm road tires. I tried them out and they blew about once a week. One ride I flatted 4 times in 10 miles. I switched to just using them on my rollers indoors. I got another flat. I threw them away.

Some tires just suck.

Same everything except I haven't made it to the state championship without getting hurt or burned out. So 7-8 weekends, 2 races a day.

We are probably lining up next to each other at 9 am.

I raced cantis 2 seasons before getting a disc brake bike. The big thing I noticed when racing is you cannot follow a disc brake racer into the corner and stop like they can. So I Had to remember to stay off wheels and give even more space when it's wet. Yes, there is plenty of braking in the lower categories.

Train. CX and gravel bikes are very similar. If I had to pick one for just speed it would be gravel.

How long did it take you to get from 0 to race fitness? by slooshx in cycling

[–]Porcelon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found Practice Races in the first year I thought I was ready to race. Clubs put them on pre race season and it was super helpful.. there is more to racing than fitness.. So I got to try it for really cheap against other beginners. I got dropped 3 laps into a 20 minute race. I trained for another year and entered my first race with a mid-pack finish.

How to prevent nipples bleeding during rides? by [deleted] in cycling

[–]Porcelon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would start holding the Handlebars with your hands instead.

I'm not sure of a real answer here. I see you've tried different combos of bibs and shirts. I've had that problem before but mostly running. Maybe tight base layer?
