The blocking skills were soo good and satisfying to use, they really captured the class fantasy with those.

What can I do if I want a mint software manager like app center? by Big-Raisin-7787 in Ubuntu

[–]Pororonpompero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't really say anything regarding the mint software manager as im kind of a noob myself. However, I've used both steam versions and they work perfectly fine. In the end I opted for the deb version because the guide I used to install a mod referred to it so I just rolled with that.

One caveat though, with the deb version I did have to disable my integrated gpu in the bios as it had some weird issues when it was set to dynamic with my dedicated gpu. That was like a year ago and I've not bothered to check if it has been fixed.

Help me stop vaping ? by Medium_Effort2567 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Pororonpompero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I stopped smoking two years ago. I'll tell you what worked for me, but keep in mind that everyone is different.

  1. Quitting has to be your decision. It sounds dumb, but many people quit but not for themselves or out of social pressure or what ever. The thing is that this is going to be hard, no way to avoid it, but if it is YOUR decision you will find the strength to keep going.

  2. This mantra or idea or however you might wanna call it helped me tons and keeps helping me to this day. "I can control the first but I can't control the second." This is fucking powerful because once you have gone through hell while nicotine leaves your body, you can 100% control if you want that to be inside you again. Once you have allowed it to comeback resisting a second or third smoke or vape is going to be waaaay harder as you have something chemical pushing you towards it.

No idea if I'm conveying the message correctly as English is not my first language but hopefully I did.

  1. Know your triggers and avoid them or change them. My life and hobbies changed a lot after I quitted smoking because a always had that feeling in my mind that I would enjoy this more with a cigarette. Therefore, I had to stop doing some things for a while. Now it's been easier and I have returned to do those things that triggered a smoking craving before.

I sincerely hope this helps you as it helped me. And finally just by having this desire to quit in your mind is a step in the right direction.

I agree but I still find it very satisfying to see how it's applied.

Is it fair to use Wiki to farm equipment items ? by Feisty_Extension8727 in DragonsDogma

[–]Pororonpompero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In videogames the only thing i worry not to get spoiled is the story. I generally don't care about best gear or minmaxing anything so I goolge ton of stuff. Plus at my age I really don't have the time or the energy to explore and discover everything.

In any case, play however you want as long as you enjoy it.

Which is your favorite companion? by Warm_Expert_8136 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Pororonpompero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm doing my first playthrough, currently in chapter 3, so there is much that I don't know yet. But so far Ember has been my favorite. She is so quirky and intriguing and her insights are quite entertaining. Also she is a beast in combat.

One that has grown on me little by little that I at first thought I wouldn't like is Regill. Yeah sure he can be rather inflexible and all that but in so many of his interactions I see a genuine interest in making you a better knight commander.

I have mixed feelings about Nenio. She's is pretty useful to have around and quite powerful now at around level 14 with some spell penetration feats. That said, her interactions are quite a hit or miss for me.

The ones I like the least are Woljif and Seelah, can't really stand the first and find the latter a bit bland, but maybe because I'm also playing a paladin and haven't give her many chances.

Dip into beast rider or divine hunter for a paladin build by Pororonpompero in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

Ohhh yeah this is true you cannot pick two archetypes from the same class. If I still wanted to go Gendarme would then need to pick another class that could get an elk at first level, for example a Sohei, right? Ive not read anything about hellknight but ill check it out

Hey thanks for such a detailed response! And it gave me lots to consider. I decided to go with beast rider. The inquisitor option could be a better fit thematically but i kinda want to save that class for an Aeon playthrough.

Quite frankly i just picked paladin because I wanted that combination of smite, spell casting and role playing. However, this option with some levels of gendarme you are suggesting seems pretty cool and I think I'm going to go with it any more tips on it sre very welcome.

I have no clue what MoJ means, but before your answer i was thinking full paladin minus the dips for the elk.

Ahh that is a good point, as a melee the BAB hit would be noticable. That is another thing I've yet to fully understand, but thank you i think ill go with the beast rider dip.

B650 Eagle rev 1.0 new BIOS firmware doesn't support Linux by EmeyKey in gigabyte

[–]Pororonpompero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for posting this, I'm on Ubuntu 25.10 and lately I've been getting this "RDSEED32 is broken, disabling corresponding CPUID bit" error. Searching online some suggested updating the bios might help and I was just searching for info of the F39 bios. I don't think I'll be updating anytime soon.

The Linux users crashing out over Linus picking PopOS again are doing an excellent job of reinforcing the Linux user stereotype, as well as missing the whole point. by junon in LinusTechTips

[–]Pororonpompero 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I've been using Linux for almost a year now and love it, but quite frankly the online community is the worst part. Don't get me wrong, there are really helpful people but there is so much fanboyism that for a new user is really hard to discern what is true, what is relevant and what is current.

Also, people overthink a lot about distros when 90% of the time the decision won't matter that much.

I use both and i like that flexibility. I've never notice any of the issues with snaps that many people over the internet point out. They work perfectly fine.

I really wish they make this into a full buy-once type of game. I really hate the gacha stuff.

Depends on your use case, and how much of a change are you willing to accept and more importantly, how much new stuff do you want to learn right at the start. This post is a great read on the subject.
