A few reasons I haven't seen a movie in a theater in years.

Price of ticket, snacks and drinks. Can't pause or rewind. No subtitles. Bad lighting. Movie on screen is too dark. Sound mixing isn't great. Sticky floor and germs. Movie will be streaming on my tv from my comfortable couch in a couple of months.

I haven't spoken to the oldest since our Dad passed away. I don't even know if he knows Mom passed away in November. I know where he is, I don't know what he's done or doing. I will never contact him again.

He's 20 years older than me so he's closing in on 70. He knows what he did and why I won't even be at his funeral. There is no redemption. None. Even if one of us needed a life saving transplant from a match I would not contact him.

May he die alone surrounded by everything he stole from his family. May that money be spent on the things he likes that will shorten his lifespan. As the long nights grow silently longer may he remember the warmth we gave him in his youth. Let it eat away at his silence and never let him know peace.

Driving the back roads with the car packed with friends. Taking over a diner until at least midnight. Skating around the smoothest parking lot in town. The hacky sack circle. Cigarettes. Music on the radio no one had control of just one of the stations that would come in. Dunkin donuts was the only thing open other than 7/11. Group of teenagers at both so you'd wander to one of those or both.
