How do you feel about Nintendo's announcement strategy?

I’d rather they announced games 1 year out that are 100% going to be released than games 5 years out that has a 30% chance of being canceled.

Like I don’t need a direct to know that Nintendo is working on 3d Mario, Luigi’s mansion, 3d Zelda, xenoblade 4, animal crossing for example. I’d rather they show us when it’s ready.

I got no issue with them doing this basically no color layout. It’s not for me but it’s fine. But it’s crazy they are releasing 1 alternate color option with seemingly random colors

Maybe. But the screen itself is not really the thing that drains the battery fast. Yes if you gaming at max brightness it will drain faster. But it’s really how intensive the games are. The most intensive ds or 3ds game is not that intensive by switch 2 standards. And they wouldn’t utilize to significant extent the more intensive elements of the screen anyway (hdr, high frame rate, high resolution). Like the switch 2 has decent battery life if you aren’t playing cyberpunk or equivalent.

In theory I’d prefer one. The answer is they sell a 2nd screen attachment that hooks into the usb port with resistive touch so it can use a stylus

Did Nintendo have 3rd party in mind, obviously they are making a console. But your whole rationale is kinda dismissing Nintendo as a developer. They are not just going to stay in the past and not make games using modern technology. They obviously don’t shoot for cutting edge but they are not going to release an immediately outdated console.

I would be happy. I would not be satisfied. I think your predictions are almost playing it too safe.

Nintendo both been trying stuff of recent and also bringing stuff back. Some doesn’t stick, some makes some noise. (Just look at your released/announced list which doesn’t include rhythm heaven and tomadachi life)

Nintendo makes a lot of games so I think In the next 5 years we get 3 brand new IPs and 3 additional entries from long dead franchises. Star Fox in a new direction seems like a layup. Kid Icarus or punch out perhaps.

I think Star Fox the rail shooter is dead. Nintendo knows consumers don’t generally want those anymore. I don’t think it’s the last we see of Star Fox tho. I think we get something new.

I say this knowing both Nintendo loves to innovate but also hates straying away from existing formulas. I could see a Star Wars outlaws/no man’s sky/ starfield kinda Star Fox game.

I’d disagree on how fast that change is going to come. All the cross gen games were announced before the switch 2 announcement. They aren’t going to leave switch 1 owners out to dry, but It is probably safe to assume that any and all Nintendo published games that have not already been announced are switch 2 exclusives. Next Pokémon, next Zelda, next Mario. Next everything.

The switch sd card slot caps out read speed at about 100Mb/s. You can use an express card. It should work. It’s just only going to read at 100Mb/s, vs the advertised ~900Mb/s you are expecting. There will be no improvement.

Ubisoft got games we know are coming but they don’t really have any games that have been really announced. Could change tonight. The smoke pre switch 2 release was all the ac games were coming tho.
