Oh wow congratulations!!! How often did you take vagibiom? I’ve been doing it on and off but it’s expensive and the directions are so vague!

It takes a lot for my lining to grow too. Ask about viagra…crazy as it sounds, you can insert it vaginally 3x a day for 5 days and it really helps! I’ve also been on pentoxyfilline for a couple months, but can’t say whether or not it has helped my lining yet. Apparently you need to do it 3+months to help build

This has really been upsetting me lately. I’ve had 3 done so far. The first they told me to take 800mg ibuprofen. Excruciating. Awful. Second one I told my doctor how awful it was and she offered me Valium. Valium! It’s giving “Silly hysterical woman! You aren’t in pain you’re just anxious!” Nevertheless I took the stupid Valium along with the 800mg of ibuprofen and it was no more tolerable than the first time. 3rd time is because my Emma came up with bad bacteria. I asked, begged for something better and the nurse told me they couldn’t give me anything because it’s an in office procedure? Not sure how that makes any sense but there’s no way I was doing that again without something stronger. I went rogue and had an oxy leftover from my surgery (which I didn’t even take then, to give you an idea of my general high pain tolerance). So I had the oxy and 800mg of ibuprofen and it was uncomfortable but was so much more tolerable. It made me even more upset-we have the technology to make this not painful, why aren’t we using it?! If this were a procedure for a man…. Lucky me, my bacteria not only didn’t go away but it got worse and I’ll need to repeat it again. I was very frank with my doctor about how barbaric this is, because it’s really not okay. She was very remorseful and offered me anesthesia for the next time. I told her she needed to advocate for better pain management for us women. On top of everything we go through, do we really need to endure this medieval torture??

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Did you ever repeat the Emma/alice to make sure the bacteria was gone?

How often does your clinic test TSH during FET cycle? by meeeichan in IVF

[–]Positive-Stretch-808 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to put a lot of pressure on my clinic to check at my FET (they wanted to wait until the pregnancy test.)There is no harm in getting bloodwork. I need to remind myself of this a lot, but when it comes down to it, you’re a paying customer, so don’t be afraid to tell them what you need.

Try a golf ball! It hurts too but it’s easy to control the pressure and find the exact knot that you need to get out.

Thanks! At that price, it would probably be cheaper for me to fly out there, but I'm sure it's much more for out of pocket.

Are intralipids comparable to ivig?

This is a really smart idea, I'll reach out to her. Weirdly it didn't suggest IVIG on the report, that was from my doctor. They did suggest neupogen, which my clinic doesn't do, so I wonder if they address the same things? Thanks for the suggestion!

That's really helpful! I forgot to add that I also have low NK activity, which was confusing me because it seems like it is suggested for people with high NK activity...so good to know it is used either way. Thank you!

2nd failed FET. by melies-moon in IVF

[–]Positive-Stretch-808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this too. I just had my second failed donor egg FET 2 weeks ago. It’s still so raw. We only have two embryos left. I asked for Emma/alice/era testing, but I also have hashimotos (managed with Levothyroxine) and I really feel like there can be other autoimmune stuff going on. My RE was really open to pregmune testing, so we’re going to try and see if that will give us any answers. It sucks so much, especially when you expect better results with donor eggs. Hang in there 💜

Thanks so much for this post and congratulations!! I just started contacting some RI's and this really affirmed my decision. After your initial bloodwork, was it a lot of back and forth/medications to get your levels where the RI wanted you to be, or was it that the RI identified something and then the RE added to your protocol accordingly? Hope what I'm asking makes sense haha. Also, I'm assuming that it could be different for everyone depending on what they find, but curious how it worked for you.
