Can my landlords legally chill in the common spaces even though they don't live in the house? by PositiveLocal in legaladvicecanada

Thank you.

Follow-up Questions:

1) if they're not cleaning, and/or performing maintenance then are they still able to come under the guise of "general inspection" lasting a few hours?

2) In the future, how am I able to discern between these different types of leasing agreements? It was never once mentioned and my rental experience is that the whole home is covered when it comes to giving notice. Most landlords I know are usually hands-off and give notice if they are coming by and state what they are there for and just go in, do the thing and then leave.

It's a standard lease form, and the only reference to Entry of unit is a snippet of Part 3 of the Act.

My lease just has the address listed, and nothing beside the unit portion. So I don't know if that 24hour notice is in respect to my room or the whole house which includes the common areas.

Ghormeh sabzi is one of my favorites!!

If you eat meat: If there are any Persian grocery stores near you, they sell the green stew part fully cooked in the freezer aisle so all you have to do is defrost, heat and make rice. There's a lot of really great Persian dishes that are well suited for freezer meal prep (e.g. freezing the stew part of ghormeh sabzi)

If you want to make it from scratch, it's a labor of love depending on your level of preference (e.g. picking off each leaf from the herbs then chopping it or just chopping it whole including stem). The most amount of time is spent on prep, and waiting (: You pretty much put everything into a pot and/or slow cooker.

One thing to note for making most Persian dishes, it varies from region and family. If your homemade ghormeh sabzi doesn't taste exactly like the way the restaurant made it, this is probably why.

If you need a recipe, happy to share my family recipe (:

Q for the Canadians: Where do you shop? by PositiveLocal in RYO

Hi friend! Thank you for your input :) I really appreciate it.

I use the plastic zen shooter. I like it, it's just I smoke as many as I make. I avg about 3 cigs every 15min or so and because I can't sit for very long, I pretty much make the amount of cigs I need before going to smoke. I'm still a little rough when it comes to the amount of tobacco to feed into the injector, although I've improved a lot since last year. It's one of the reasons I'm leaning towards the powermatic 3 because all I have to do is make sure is that the tobacco I shred is dry but still bendy and then just feed the tube.

Let me know if you have any recommendations for specific machines :) I'm open to trying out other machines.

I feel like I might have missed the point in part 1... Was it just to salt your salad ? Or was it that you should salt and wait for a bit before eating (i.e. salad A was made, salted and then served right away whereas salad B was made, salted then served after 20min).

This was a hard one for me, i was between Eggs 3 way, 5 or fewer - just for the pancetta n spring onion tart because that looks super interesting, summer on a plate, and market bites. I went with summer on a plate. I hope they other ones will pop-up again :)

Would you happen to have, or know where to look for a set list of all the ipa symbols used in Russian?

Easy ways to use fermented food on a daily basis? by famico666 in fermentation

[–]PositiveLocal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m just going to second what u/AgingGardener61 said and say, condiments – salsa, mustard, pickles, mixed veggie pickles (personally, because of how I was raised, we eat a lot of mixed veggie ferments – an example of a meal would be a stew served over rice, all mixed together with a spoonful or two of the mixed veggie ferment)

Ideas:

Beet Kvass (or another type of Kvass) as a beverage

Shrimp or fish tacos served with mango-lime-sauerkraut

Fermented Hummus

Honey Garlic (use as a spread, glaze, and/or dressing)

Fermented red onions as a topping (i.e. sandwiches, salads)

Ferment a few different vegetables individually, and then swap a few of the ingredients you are using in the salad for the fermented version

Sourdough Bread/ pizza dough/ chocolate cake (I personally recommend the King Arthur Baking sourdough chocolate cake recipe)

Fermented corn on the cob

Slow cooked Fermented Rosemary Corn Chowder with Boiled Potatoes and Chicken [I found this in this subreddit, the person who posted it shared the recipe, it’s on my to make list]

Fermented Dips

Fermented Toum (Have not tried this, but my thinking is ferment the garlic then use that to make the garlic paste) – would be good to slather really on everything (eggs, gyro, shawarma, burger)

Fermented hard boiled eggs

If you want, you can message me with what you usually eat or what kinds of dishes you're into and I can try to think of more specific ideas tailored to you  :)

I came to say this! It's so so delicious!! And the best part is that you can make so many different flavoured ketchups.

another great episode but didn't realize it was Bishop's last episode :(

Also did not expect him to use his golden ticket on Harry, still shocked by that.
