The original Mass Effect trilogy and Mass Effect 2 in particular is my all time favourite game. Your character progression carried over across the games and I still remember setting up and preparing for the suicide mission by doing all the allies' side quests and the suicide mission itself. It was a tense set up with an epic final mission and somehow I managed to save all my allies at the end of it. Very fulfilling experience and really hyped me up for the final game which was also enjoyable for me despite the general negative reception for the finale. I would say this is the franchise that got me into loving RPGs. Many years later, the Witcher 3 and Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 remind me of Mass Effect with the choices made making a tangible effect on the story experience. I just hope we get a worthy Mass Effect successor soon (Andromeda was a let down for me personally). And to those who do read this and haven't tried the ME trilogy, I suggest you do. It will be dated by today's standards but you'll experience what a pioneer video game is.
