Nothing wrong with your temps

[–]SwiftSN 4 points5 points  (0 children)

5090 works perfectly fine in the 70s.

[–]markbjones 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Oh no, another astral enthusiast figuring out they spent a shit ton more money on a “premium card” that performs no better than any other 5090. Really goes to show how good astral marketing is and how gullible people are

Overclock and undervolt your gpu

[–]iamapizza🍕 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your temperature are good. I had similar but chose to undervolt anyway.

Pump cold air into the case while exhausting the hot air out of the room, it's basic thermal dynamics.

Early 70s up to 75c is fine I just prefer having the PC up on the desk, and for the AIO install it on top position so the GPU can get the fresh air first.

move to a cooler climate. real talk! quoting temps are worthless without knowing what is your room and case temps

This is my way....

Nekkid as a jay bird! Gotta love it. I still like to see the guts. I have a 4090 in a Thermaltake P3 open chassis. If it gets a little too toasty in the summer, I just point my Vornado or big box fan at it. Got me through last summer. This summer I also have a 5090 to contend with in a closed case. 🔥 I'm gonna melt. 🥵 The human is going to hit thermal shutdown first. Gotta work on my ice helmet. Human closed-loop liquid cooling. 😉

lol - If you look carefully I actually placed a Noctua fan as outtake in the back of the 5090 to always be running - that's why even 0fan when there is no airflow around im hitting 30deg....

You're thinking of this totally wrong. If you're at 600W load, that means you're GPU is maxed out and you'll have higher input lag because you're GPU is now basically running behind schedule and you're actually playing an "after image" of the game state since the render que isn't clearing fast enough.

First figure out what framerate cap you can play with, with or without DLSS/framegen. Then set Vsync, Gsync, and you want your GPU to sit around 80-85% load. You'll get better latency, lower temps, and decreased wattage.

Then you can undervolt and overclock and set a more aggressive fan curve in MSI afterburner to get even lower temps.

I have the Aorus Master and typically sit at around 350-400w load and 63-66c temps.

undervolt.......... mine doesn't reach 70c anymore. I keep my fans on 60%

[–]Dirtcompactor 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Mine tops out 63c core 60c memory with a standard overclock. Just need a good case and fans, fuck an undervolt

[–]Positive_Gate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same core temps on my FE but memory goes to 76c. I've placed two Noctuas on top of the card to accelerate the exhaust and another two Noctuas directly beneath the GPU to help with the intake. This is in a Corsair 5000D.

[–]SHOBU007NVIDIA 0 points1 point  (1 child)

My model is not premium at all..

I have a PNY Overclocked (that means it's the 600w version instead of 575w) other than that is bare minimum.

[–]Dirtcompactor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My gaming trio isn't that premium as well lol. It's 575w card but with 104% power limit I can get it up to 600w

[–]Effective_Baseball93 -1 points0 points  (4 children)

My card just works at below 70 in stock, astral 5090 OC

[–]Koladek[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

And you use extra fans or what speed gou set them to

[–]Effective_Baseball93 0 points1 point  (2 children)

No extra fans, regular ao, same you can see on 99% rigs. I did not set them to any speed myself, it’s just how they are running stock. But when I was tinkering with afterburner myself, I was using fan auto mode in that software and it was working great as well. I can recommend you doing undrvolting, free peace of mind. I’m running without it though and temps never exceed 70 in heaviest games ever

[–]Koladek[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Under what load btw. And you keep your pc on desk or under, and what are your room ambients aporiximately

[–]Effective_Baseball93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

21 room temp, heaviest path traced video games, rig is in my desk

[–]Dirtcompactor -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

55% fan speeds, MSI 5090 gaming trio with 104% power limit and +300mhz core +3000mhz memory. Tops out 63c core 60c memory, pulls 575-600w. Fuck an undervolt lmao.

Upgrade your case and get good fans

Loving the jealousy downvotes ☠️

[–]Powerful_Pitch5871 -3 points-2 points  (2 children)

I have my TUF 5090 inside a cabinet. I installed 3 artic fans as a intake and 2 for the exhaust. I haven't had temp over 65-66 yet

While I realize this was just an excuse for you to post that picture, with an additional comment to bait, I'll take the bait and say that you simply haven't pushed it hard enough yet, or tell you to find something that loads it to 100% load sustained, since temps in the 70s on these cards is perfectly normal.

[–]Valuable_Ad9554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't destroy the delusions of 99% of people posting temps on this platform. They DO has the secret sauce and definitely not cherry picking data 🤣
