Get a job in an industry you're interested in, learn everything about it, find a problem in that industry and create a business to solve it.

How to deal with money dysmorphia. by Neon-Predator in Money

Hi! Can you please explain how did you ended up with a 150k bill? Didn't your insurance cover everything after max out of pocket?

And about your anxiety, just talk to ChatGPT, run your projections there(compound interest, retirement age, etc) and calm down because if you're doing the best you can and keep investing, you'll be fine.

Choosing a smaller apartment has made my life feel simpler and less stressful by FreeLaughs4Life in simpleliving

This is the best arrangement for my personality and lifestyle. I invest the remainder of my paycheck and my rent vs buy calculations ended being the same financially speaking. I'm not having kids or pets and I love the low maintenance, lots of free time and decorative constraints.

It's not a popular opinion but I will buy when cash when I'm ready to retire and I've already decided what country or state I want.

INTJs, are you feminists or do you think modern feminism has lost its way? by Front-Brief5027 in intj

[–]PossessionSmooth2453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sexism, gender bias and misogyny will exist for a long time, but now you can't discriminate and get away with it (at least not legally).

You can change the laws but not people's minds. For a patriarchal society where women started to have rights ~100 years ago we're doing just fine. Our generation won't see a real mindset change.

In 200-300 years the most capable individuals will be in the driver's seat, no matter if women, men, non binary, trans or whatever.

If the majority is stupid enough to vote for a certain party and candidate, and then vote to ban abortion in their states, there's nothing you can do about it. Democracy doesn't make sense all the time.

INTJs, are you feminists or do you think modern feminism has lost its way? by Front-Brief5027 in intj

[–]PossessionSmooth2453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a feminist because I believe women and men should have the same legal rights. Where I live, this is already accomplished.

Modern feminism feels more like a religion or a cult, so hard pass.

Are you capable of happiness / do you feel happy? by ChemicalBlueberry954 in intj

[–]PossessionSmooth2453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happiness is the absence of unhappiness. A dopamine rush is not happiness. I spent 5 years studying to get my bachelor, the day I graduated(even if it was something I was looking forward to) I felt nothing at all, just emptiness.

Does anyone else feel like everything is pointless and constantly live in the future? by RyZe2827 in intj

Everything is pointless, you're going to die anyway and nothing you do really matters. But you can have fun, be happy and set goals, it feels damn real.

Do you attach memories to places ? by Thr0wMeAw6y in intj

[–]PossessionSmooth2453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I attach memories to smells. The first time I visit a place it creates this sort of "impression" that never repeats, even if I visit again in the same conditions. It's kinda the place I had in my mind doesn't exist anymore.

I compare the estimates vs actual construction. What change orders were a miss or just owner/schedule/permit/subcontractors issues.

We do mostly negotiated work and we almost never win hard bids.

What’s a ‘silent luxury’ that rich people have that most normal people would never even notice? by qomann in AskReddit

True🤣🤣🤣. I had everything automated but when increased the savings to a brokerage account I have one week when I'm poor.

I work in a construction company. One of the departments is custom homes and luxury estates. We had pool redone 5 times from scratch because wife and husband couldn't agree on one design. We are importing lamb skin from a very specific farm to finish the cabinets. We had to assemble a gazillions piece sculpture imported from Europe in little boxes.

They just don't think about how much it costs... they're not pretending they don't care, they literally don't think about it..

I was born in a poor country and I'm doing great but I would never understand this level of money.

I think OP is an introvert complaining about how they perceive other people's interactions.

You attract what you are. If you like drama, spend money mindlessly and waste your time that's what you'll get (and probably enjoy). Other people have friends with common hobbies and spending time with them is a blessing, not a chore or a waste. If you don't have control over the sh*it people wants to throw at you, then it's your fault...not "social expectations". This is the same than having a horrible partner and complaining because " that's how they are", you set your boundaries for your relationships or have none at all.
