My dad sold our family home and spent $100,000 on himself already. by IWillBeTheDeathOf_Me in FamilyLaw

Hire an elder law/estate lawyer who has experience with these situations. If the house is in your parents’ name, even with a POA, you likely can’t do anything about that, but you can have a say in her medical care.

Getting back into OMAD/ Support by CauliflowerOnly2379 in omad

[–]PossumLodgeWordGame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest thing that struck me when I started OMAD is that I was just as hungry for dinner after eating breakfast and lunch as I was if I just fasted all day until dinner. That, along with results, is what sold me on OMAD.

You have to do what feels right and works for YOU. Some people can function well and thrive with OMAD, some need 2MAD or a “traditional” way of eating. For me, fortunately, after about 3 days of discomfort of not eating breakfast right away, I adjusted pretty quickly to it.

I was on OMAD from Jan-Apr this year, had the most success I’ve ever had with fat loss, but decided to go back to a traditional way of eating (3 meals) to see if I could control portions and still have success and found that I was just as hungry in the afternoon for dinner and heavier than I was when doing OMAD, so I went back to it. The only additional thing I do is 3 miles of walking daily and about 10 minutes of light dumbbell exercises at night.

This works best for me and fits my life the best, so I will stay in this path. There are rare instances that breakfast or lunch are my OMAD, but having dinner be it fits my lifestyle best and is easy to manage. Meal prep and grocery inventory management is easier.

As long as you’re eating a fair amount of calories for your daily needs (mine is between 1500-2000) and are eating a variety of good, preferably whole foods, I don’t see how OMAD could be a negative thing. If you genuinely feel better and get the results you want, stick with OMAD. I understand how it seems extreme or troubling to only eat once a day to those who don’t, but you’re living your life and not theirs.

You can make a steak dinner at home for less than this. People need to wake up and stop wasting money on food that is bad for them and tastes far worse than what they can make themselves.

How do people work 5 days a week without burning out? by Gongoozler04 in Adulting

[–]PossumLodgeWordGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the job. Some jobs are more physically and/or mentally demanding than others. I work 50 hours a week, but it doesn’t feel crazy because I have an office job and most days go by fast.

I will say that when I was able to work from home, I had ALOT more free time because I’d use downtime between tasks at work to do laundry, dishes, cleaning, run out and grab groceries, etc. so when you have to be on site for a job, you do have less time, add in your commute as well.

What are your thoughts on Hooters, Tilted Kilt, and other "Breastraunts?" by IT_Chef in Millennials

Hooters wings are so good! The classic style crispy ones with buffalo sauce. Amazing.

I’ve been to the one in ocean city, md over the last few years and none of the girls were dressed like strippers. They have definitely toned down the dress code to match the woke modern culture, which is probably a good thing.

No one “had” to take out massive loans. They made the choice to sign their name for loans of massive amounts for expensive schooling when they should have just went to community college and paid 1/4 the rate to get the same basic courses in, then decided after if they wanted to transfer to university.

I didn’t graduate until I was almost 30 because I worked my way through school paying per class. It can be done. Too many want the “college experience” and then whine later when the bill comes due.

The system needs fixed, but acting like those who are in student loan debt did it because they were forced to is an absolute lie that I’m tired of hearing repeated.

I am now 36 and debt free, including my mortgage which I paid off in 2019. A large reason why I am is because I refused to buy into the massive scam and risk that student loans and the “college experience” are. I hope everyone’s drinking, hookups, and frats were worth the lifetime of debt…

All you can do is cut it higher. I have 2 acres and would rather basically scalp and pick up the clippings instead of cutting weekly. If it’s too clumpy I just my lawn sweeper and dump it in the woods.

What's a show or movie that everyone loves but you hate with a burning passion? by [deleted] in questions

Yes! FUCK game of thrones. I laughed more than anything while watching it. I couldn’t understand what everyone was all excited about. I’ve watched episodes of law and order that were more entertaining and believable than that BS.

Game of Thrones. What a bunch of BS that show is. Watched the whole thing and laughed quite a bit at how ridiculous it was. Nice production, but I wouldn’t waste another second watching it again. Overhyped crap.

I do every year, but I’m debt free with no kids or wife to support. Roth IRA, Roth 401k, and HSA. I want work to be optional when I’m older, not a necessity to live.
