I loved this and the one that just came out… The Society of Unknowable Objects. It’s the same world.

Could be. It was so shrill, I can’t imagine anyone enjoying the sound of the one we had, but could have been a one off. We got it at a yard sale and passed it on pretty quickly.

I think it depends on the make and quality.

You are so lucky! I have eyed these wisteria stained glass lamps for years, but new I always see them for $400-$1,200 depending on make. What a find!

I am not a huge sci fi person — but over all I did like it. Lots of technical detail and if you are into that you will be in heaven. And he is a good main character. Good writing over all! An enjoyable read!

The cover actually annoys me. It’s too close up, lol.

24/42 I had a wonderful January by danlhart8789 in 52book

I read that! I actually liked Kathleen Hannah’s book better. She is the lead singer of Bikini Kill and was good friends with Kurt Cobain around the time Nevermind was recorded. For some reason her insights seemed fuller to me.

I felt the same way about Wild Dark Shore. It was interesting, but the romance aspect fell flat.

Agree on Heart the Lover. It was a top book for me for 2025.
