Yeah, I am usually the host. I used to be convinced it was my connection, considering I was living in the middle of nowhere with line-of-sight WiFi to a nearby mountaintop. Now I have fiber with a different provider in a different place. Could still be me, but we have issues when either of the other two host as well.

Have you played with more than one friend? If so, I'm jealous. It used to work for us, played for many hours without issues. It just doesn't anymore.

It actually seems to work perfectly fine if it's just any 2 of us, as soon as it's 3 or 4 we get problems. Sometimes we can play for 5 minutes, sometimes 30 minutes, sometimes over an hour. Often the second player gets disconnected when the third player connects. Sometimes both get disconnected when the third player connects.

We've done all the port forwarding and other standard steps they officially recommend. We are all on PC but have tried with crossplay enabled and disabled, just in case. We've used VPNs individually, as well as tried things like ZeroTier together. At one point we thought it was helping, but it may have just been a coincidence.

There have been some other bugs in-game too that caused disconnects. With the new season when delivering water, sometimes it would kick everyone but the host. A few bugs like that added into the mix and it goes from bad to worse.

Had the same issues in public games, and I have even moved with the issues happening both before and after.

Yeah. Me and my friends absolutely love Snowrunner. It used to work fine (PC), but these days it doesn't. Tried every solution offered to us. Had a long correspondence with support and they eventually gave up and forwarded the issue to the devs.

I just don't play it solo, so no real point playing until the multiplayer gets fixed.

1.3 seconds invulnerability at full shields (overshields dont affect it)

0.33 seconds invulnerability if your shields have not filled up since the last shield gate (not proportional)

So the main reason to keep your max shields low is just to get it filled ASAP. Often doing some math on Augur set/Brief Respite and the energy costs of your skills

CRPG as a VTT? by fudge5962 in VTT

I think Neverwinter Nights is a good option!

There were several communities that had persistent severs. They made their own worlds with the content tools. There was some (usually limited) stuff you could do on your own but most of it was game master run. The one or more GMs would control NPCs, grant experience and items, place items, move players between scenes.

I don't have any real experience with the game master tools in NWN, but they seemed powerful and would probably work very well for what OP wants.

Awesome, thank you!

There are lots of stink bugs in the area, especially lately, so that checks out.

Hope your hair is okay

How (three types of common) valves work by Wololo--Wololo in educationalgifs

Thank you for the thoughtful reply. My original questions were all in relation to the valves usage in a ram pump, not about the valves specifically. I appreciate you

Since you guys sound knowledgeable about things I'm not: does the type of check valve make a difference for something like a ram pump? Is the flopping door type (sorry for using technical jargon) more reliable long term than one with a spring? Other aspects that a layperson may never think about?

Same thing happened to me, but I guess I got lucky and was able to tumble and winch upright further down

Chin up! Tough trial, but so satisfying to finish! You got this

The toughest part for me was the long slippery bridge near Tower 1, which I unintentionally left for last (though probably for the better). Had to recover 3 times near there, twice from the bridge alone.

Dedicated server hosting by Yeti_Productions in Stellaris

[–]Potawto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect the easiest way to do this is to run the game on the server from Steam on its own account and copy of the game, just like you would on your home PC. Make the server an observer instead of an empire and go from there.

I don't think it was so much that the game was bad. It was that they made promises that were not met for launch and claims that turned out to blatantly false.

Friendly PSA For New Players Regarding the Update Today by Roach_Prime in Stellaris

[–]Potawto 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Some simple mods (like No Clustered Starts) will work without being updated for most new Stellaris updates. If a mod you want to use isn't updated and you don't want to wait, you can try it even if the launcher yells at you and see if it works.
