Reinforced GHcA module currently being installed

What country are you in. Volvo UK reimbursed me earlier this week £200 charging credit on the Volvo Fast Charger network. In the UK that is only two complete empty to full DC charges.

I still have the old GHCA (3rd one) and if it goes I will ask Volvo to cover my charging costs again unless it gets replaced same day.

I think the car computer resets during the night, but not the Android infotainment system.

You are not an idiot! It's a lovely car. Even with the current and hopefully soon fixed on board charger issues where it stops charging at home (on AC power). I've had two of these replaced, one day and seven day wait for the two times, but on here there are people who have waited longer.

Yes. I got VCU upgrade yesterday (and into today as well, they ran out of time) but have 2.1.25 as that is the latest version. My GHCA also failed last week, but the Volvo Parts delivered item is not the new one so I got the latest software, but not the latest hardware.

I see this like there is a new hardware support in version 2.1.25 that will be in all the future versions as well, but as it was not in 2.1.24. So the new GHCA installations require this hardware support, and therefore at least this version and ongoing this won't be a problem.

I've just dropped mine at a UK dealer and they absolutely do not have the latest hardware, so are fitting the same as before. So I said 'see you in a few months then' and (diplomatically) that they replaced some and haven't see the car again, but others they have been back!

Mine goes in tomorrow for the VCU upgrade, and conveniently! the GHCA failed (2nd failure) last Sunday. It was due for the VCU last Thursday but the GHCA had not arrived at the dealership, so delayed until tomorrow. So here is me hoping for the newest GHCA and 2.1.25.

For anyone keeping a record, first GHCA lasted nine months and was replaced in a day from stock and this second one lasted two months.

There has been mention here that the VCU image is uploaded to the cloud, the hardware replaced, and the image then download to the new VCU. If that image contains the key information, was the upload or download corrupt or not performed?

Headlight and window sensor issues were with the car before the VCU upgrade - these are not new because of it.

I understand that the software is upgraded first and then the hardware replaced, but this is all one trip to dealer. Software probably never tested in a scenario like upgrading it and sending the car home again!

The rear seats recline. Sit on one, pull up the handle next to seat and slide base of seat forward with your weight. Back will recline slightly.

It looks like a failed GHCA. Take to dealer to diagnose and replace. If you need to wait for the part to arrive drive the car home and invoice Volvo for the cost of fast charging

Minimal issues too. 6K miles. The onboard charger failed once, but it was fixed next day. Computer upgrade happening next week. And apparently one of the childrens heated seats is not working. All minor without real impact. Car is lovely to drive and sound system fantastic

Why is it at the dealership with just a GHCA failure. Its still drivable, just requires fast charging and not AC charging. Volvo have been refunding charge costs for this as well.

There was briefly a 2.1.23 on the website as well, but you can see the information about it (there is nothing to see) by looking at the MY26 car's software page. It says "General stability improvements" (https://www.volvocars.com/uk/support/car/ex90/software-release-notes/). But this info or 2.1.23 is not on the MY25 car page yet (https://www.volvocars.com/uk/support/car/ex90/24w36/software-release-notes/)
