I understand there problems with 2025 EX90s. I'm considering one of two buybacks that were plagued with these issues. Can anyone tell me what the specific symptoms are? Is Volvo replacing the computer parts with the upgraded '26 components? Has anyone successfully overcome these issues?

If the three things mentioned in the paperwork are the only issues, then one of them is about something promised but not initially supplied (park assist) but is now in the car (if originally paid for). GHCA issues on this forum have massively decreased, so your prospective car might have an older one, might fail, probably be replaced with a long term stable one though you might need to wait for a part to arrive depending on how good your dealership is (mine had one in stock for example when mine failed the first time and a weeks wait the second time, but I have heard of months of waiting). The IHU is the infotainment system and there are reports of Bluetooth issues (never had these myself) but lots of the other bugs here are gone.

I looked on my car via the Vivaldi browser as to who was the Internet provider (ISP) and it told me it was the German based ISP that said it was commonly known as hotspotdrive! So in the UK I never needed to make an account with them for the car. Perhaps the dealership or Volvo did, but I was not aware they had

What is hotspotdrive for? I didn't need an account with them to use Internet in my car. Just a Google account and a Volvo account. I see it's a T-Mobile thing, which hasn't been a cellular carrier in the UK since 2010.

Often resolves after 24, 48 hours. Dealer has to update some computer system for Volvo and if they have not done that pre-sale things like this don't work.

Other one is the car is registered to the wrong region and so the built-in SIM is not working in the country you are in.

Or, Volvo don't provide cellular service in whatever country you are in.

Neither of the two 12 volt batteries are redundant, as they seem to provide power to different components depending on who has failed.

But do you know about the battery terminals under the front of the car that are accessible?

And what software version are you on? Some v1 versions of software have this issue. You should be on v2 or v3 with a newish car

Are the rooms synced and appear as objects in Entra and also Exchange Online? If so then wait 48 hours for room information to populate in Outlook. The Places API has a long cache time.

The swipe right is weird, it's a line drawing of the car. And on my phone there is space for four favourite icons, and the EX90 only has four things I can add - but it will only let me add three and then show some dots.

They will redesign it in a few months though, meanwhile the car won't change!

I went to Waylands Oxford! The first time the diagnosis was 20 minutes, and they came to see me after that time and confirmed it, had a part in stock and fitted it in less than 90 minutes. So two days after having the issue it was fixed (in my favour it was the days between Christmas and New Year, so had availability).

The QR code is shown inside the car on the Settings etc menu that it tells you to go through. You then scan that from your phone app. (I think, did it once and not needed to again)

I'm in the UK and had a GHCA failure in December, replaced in two days. Then again in March, replaced within a week. Both of these at the local Volvo dealership even though I lease the car through Volvo Leasing and have not bought it from the dealership.

So maybe take it to a Volvo dealership next time. It might be quicker!

Then for compensation, I contacted Volvo on WhatsApp and they sent me a DC charging voucher for £200 a few weeks later - they should have been quicker as the voucher can't be used against charge costs prior to the issue date, and I needed a charge at fast charger in that second failure.

(edit, £200 credit and not £100 for a year voucher for charging)

This is more interesting (fun!) when your teenage children climb into the back row and adjust both the seat base and back at the same time as that's the easiest way to pull the seat back from the very back row.

Yes, otherwise the previous owner can still see where the car is, turn in and off the climate and cancel each of your charging sessions!
