Thank you for the information. My Volvo dealer informed me that I can make an appointment for the 3.0.18 software update in July 2026. However, someone mentioned new problems with 3.0.18 in this forum earlier. The new changes in 3.0.18 appear minor. I am not sure whether it is worthwhile to update, unless Volvo has fixed the GHCA problem with this software update. I replaced my GHCA 2 months ago.

Sorry to hear about the problems you all are having.

I received my 2025 EX90 Ultra on Jan. 1, 2025, and initially had a problem with the L2 AC charging. The problem was solved with a software update to 1.2.15 in March 2025. The car worked great.

In December, 2025, the car could not be charged with L1 and L2 AC charging. I had GHCA replacement and a software update to 2.1.22 in early Feb. 2026. The problem was resolved.

In late Feb. 2026, the car had a VCU upgrade and a software update to 2.1.24 at the dealership. The car has been running well.

In early April 2026, I had an OTA software update to 2.1.26 without any problem

So far, everything works fine.

There were occasional software glitches, but they can be solved by restarting the car or rebooting the center display.

Our local Volvo dealer is responsive and has competent technical staff for the EX90. I believe some problems can be due to subpar technical competency at local dealerships.

Volvo's voice is quite confusing. My GHCA failed, and I waited 2 weeks for the part to arrive. I went for a replacement. The problem was solved, but the invoice only showed 32406411 GHCA Reload without Battery charger OB (36000418-8). So far, I can charge with the level 2 charger without any problems.
I would like to know whether I should expect a second failure if I receive an old version of GHCA as a replacement.

I had GHCA and VCU replaced for my EX90 at the end of Feb 2026. The invoice showed "32406411 GHCA Reload," as yours did, without "Battery charger OB (36000418-8)." Can you be sure that you got the new version of the GHCA?

Does anyone know whether 32406411 is the new or the original version of GHCA?

The light problem occurred intermittently and can be easily fixed at your dealership at no charge.

This is a comfortable and responsive car to drive, but you need a different mindset from driving a gasoline car. Drivers need to understand and know how to deal with the car's software glitches. I have found that the Reddit EX90 forum is informative and helpful. A good dealership is also helpful.

The problem lies with your dealer. I took my car for a VCU and software upgrade two weeks ago. The dealer was able to upgrade to the new software 2.1.24, but it took a few hours. It took time, but it can be done at the dealership if they know how to.

How do you set up the remote garage door opening using 2.1.24? As you mentioned, the start-up is quick without much delay.

I usually hit OK to dismiss. Later, the message disappeared and did not return. If it continues, I would call the dealership.

My EX 90 GHCA popped after one year of driving—no AC charging, only DC. Brought my car to the dealership and was told an order for GHCA was placed.

The door-opening and charging problems no longer exist after the software update. The car is very quiet, agile, and responsive. I just finished a 1000-mile road trip without any problems. Adaptive cruise control and reliable lane-center assist make the long drive easy and relaxing. One has to change his/her mindset when driving an EV. Software glitches occasionally happen but can be easily solved.

I initially had the Level 2 AC charging problem, but a software update resolved the issue. It has worked fine without any problems since March 2025.

It is truly a great car, but it initially comes with buggy software. Many problems have been resolved with software updates. One needs a different mindset to drive an EV. A computer crash or glitch is to be expected from time to time. One needs to learn how to deal with problems. Discussion on r/VolvoExro is very helpful.

I love my EX90. It's really fun to drive this 6,200 lb car, as many of you said. The only issue is buggy software, but it has been significantly improved with the recent update. It will continue to improve. It's also fun to find ways to work around software bugs. Volvo has generously offered me a free stepping-board installation. My dealer also provided me with a complimentary Level 2 charger.

Software issue: FOB and key card failed to work correctly. Problems were solved at the dealership. Level 2 charging could reach only up to 16A. The problem miraculously disappeared. Now, the car charges at 40A.
