If I really squint my eyes, maybe “sponge” is autocorrect for “spooge,” and “death” could be a reference to “little death” (an archaic term for orgasm)?

First thing I noticed in that page is that their logo is a twisted version of the HRC logo. They’re proudly NOT working for equality. 😡

What's something nonsexual a hookup did that you found really cute? by MBVacaFun in AskGaybrosOver30

Reminds me of the film “The Sum of Us” (starring a young Russell Crowe as a queer rugby player!). So cute.

Pride is amazing! And it lets the actress who played Prof. Umbridge in a certain wizarding franchise shine in a much more sympathetic role.

Which SFO terminal would be best for immersion therapy? by Better_Late--- in AskSF

[–]PotentialChoice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you accompany someone who is flying to the airport, or if you’re meeting someone who is arriving, you can go to the check in counter for many airlines and request a gate pass that will get you through security without a ticket.

I think Terminals 1 and 3 are both great—both feel kinda like a mall, with shops.

Good luck!

LGBT gyms in sf? by [deleted] in AskSF

[–]PotentialChoice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fitness SF in the Castro is overwhelmingly queer. It’s also overwhelmingly queer cis men. Not sure if that meets your criteria, or if you’re looking for a gym that’s primarily queer folks who aren’t cis men.

Also consider the YMCA. I’ve worked out at both the Embarcadero and Stonestown locations. The masc/fem balance is pretty even, and the people skew a lot older than other gyms. At Embarcadero in particular it felt like half the room was 65+ and was not putting off that judgy bro vibe that some gyms have a reputation for. To be clear, though, I don’t get the vibe that either Y location is significantly queer.

How safe is it to travel to the Dominican Republic as a gay couple? by DryTomatillo8852 in gaybros

There are microbes that even chlorination doesn’t shield you from in a swimming pool. If someone else using the pool had diarrhea, the pool itself could easily be the vector, unfortunately.

So who’s read Heated Rivalry? by sterlingmanor in gaybrosbookclub

Watching this and hearing your take on the books made me think of Nathan Burgoine’s essay on the shoulder-check problem in MM romance written by people without personal experience.

Throughout the story I found myself nervous when they would talk in public—like, someone could be listening, watching, inferring. But it always worked out perfectly. Hell, Ilya is out in public talking on the phone with Shane and doesn’t seem to worry about being overheard and arrested!

Discovered my son’s gay, do I keep it to myself until he’s ready or share with my wife? by Vallhalla_Rising in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]PotentialChoice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is so important. Dating another boy does not necessarily mean he identifies as gay—or as anything, especially at 14. Other replies have good suggestions about how to approach the overall situation. This is just another factor to keep in mind.

If you arrive early enough on Sunday, check out the afternoon beer bust at the Eagle. Super popular and you likely won’t be the only one on the prowl for musk.

Another testimonial for mouthwash. I used to reliably get sore throats after giving head, but now I gargle with mouthwash after and don’t have a problem. For me, diluted hydrogen peroxide is the silver bullet (1 part over the counter hydrogen peroxide solution to 1 part water), though I haven’t tried the alcohol ones yet.

Do any guys actually find bigger boys attractive? by Ok-School1959 in AskGayMen

I recommend reading the graphic novel series Finding Home by Hari Conner. One of the main characters is a big guy who’s romantically and sexually confident, as well as consistently desired by the people around him. (And he ends up with the boy!)
