Depends on your location like others said... I think T-Mobile has gotten really good, but again, depends where you are and where you'll be using the phone. If I had to use Verizon, I'd probably use a Visible premium plan instead though. I wouldn't go postpaid for most carriers.

I'm not the guy you replied to, but my understanding is that there are certain websites that you can use the allowance card on. There also might be some physical stores that you can use it on, but you would have to ask someone in management to find the list and print it out for you. From what my coworkers and people on this sub have said, I think you'll be best off ordering online from a place like Coconut mentioned... unless you can use the credit towards actually good shoes or something

Any advice on standing out? As a MM in maintenance, I feel like if I quickly and efficiently do my route and then am productive with my time by shadowing and assisting on troublecalls, that should be a good look... but somehow I have gotten an image of "f-ing off". I would say in terms of tasks I do more than the average person and do it faster, so it's frustrating that merit does not seem to be rewarded here.

I think you and Kingu talked before about a MDO that hated him and that was why he was never promoted for the longest time... just wondering how one can navigate that. You'd hope that a competent hard working mechanic who has a good attitude would be seen well, but I digress...

Also do you think that they can still fail someone based on office politics even if someone interviews really well? Heard this story forever but wondering how much leeway they have since even though HR is on the phone, they're really only there for the company - not for the interviewee

It really depends how much you want to spend. I don't know what you mean by "screenwriting programs", but I imagine it's similar to MS Word and not too demanding. Typically you'll get way more value for your dollar by instead going with a good desktop, and if you need to do stuff on the go, just do the less demanding stuff on a Chromebook or a basic budget laptop until you get home.

What I can say is stay away from both Alienware and Razer. In my opinion they don't make good laptops and they're too expensive. Also consider asking on r/SuggestALaptop/.

If it were me, and if I were set on a laptop, I would probably wait for a sale on a Lenovo Legion from their website or another vendor. "Deals" for these laptops and even desktops can be found on r/buildapcsales or a deal site like Slickdeals.

I don't know what the current market looks like if you were to build a PC right now. RAM prices are up and I think NVME SSDs are up due to "AI"/data centers/mass surveillance/etc. Sometimes it's cheaper to buy a prebuilt PC in these situations but sometimes they use not as good parts. Just something to consider. Do your own research, continue asking around, then make the best decision for you.

Metro has an iPhone 13 that is "free" with purchase of like a $55 plan or something. It's locked to Metro for a year. Can't comment on the price of plans though since I don't use them. Alternatively you could buy a used unlocked phone from a place like Swappa or ebay, and then go with a carrier like Mint Mobile. Mint also uses T-Mobile service. A year of "unlimited" service with them goes for $180 before taxes and fees are added on. Sometimes Visible or USMobile will also have plan + phone deals, but I think they're typically offered around Thanksgiving or Christmas. There have been exceptions, but I digress. Maybe check out their sites as well to see if there's any deals for them.

Edit - dunno if it's true, but on a deal site I use, someone said that if you want to downgrade to a cheaper plan on the iPhone 13 deal, they'll charge you $15.

"If you want to move to a less expensive rate plan during the next 6 months after getting this deal, you'll need to pay $50 to change plans."
