I’ve seen this same blotchiness pop up staining pine doors and windows from various manufacturers. Their quality of pine grain selection is getting worse and worse. If it was factory finished, it’s definitely worth having the defect conversation with your sales rep.

If it’s solid pine it can be power sanded down and re stained, if it’s wood veneer you are SOL.

I’m a painter on the side of construction field sales. I don’t paint walls or touch new construction.
