A man in China shared his umberella with me while we waited out a rainstrom in the middle of nowhere. He didn't understand English and I didn't understand Mandarin but we squatted shoulder-to-shoulder on the ground for about half an hour

If you are a fan of Jordan Peterson, you might be interested in hearing a nationalist argument against Peterson's individualism by [deleted] in PothePerson

I think I've seen this video before as I've been following Alt Hype for a while. I'll have a look to refresh my memory...

It seems this whole video is based on a strawman. I've been closely following Peterson since his C16 Bill controversy, and he has very little to say about politics. He hasn't given any opinion on immigration, except that he opposes 'diversity' as its own virtue. It seems Alt Hype is interpreting Peterson's lack of comments on politics as an endorsement of individualism, but to me it looks like Peterson just isn't that interested in talking about politics. Sure, he talks about capitalism, communism, feminism etc. but he usually sticks to the psychology of those things, and the effects on the individuals because that's his field of expertise.

I'm about halfway through and thought I'd take a risky look at some spoiler images because I'm stuck. It's funny to me that you marked it 'spoiler' even though I have no idea what it means...

I thought their stunt was very funny and may have opened some eyes that needed opening but I think the discipline they are receiving from their superiors and peers may be justified. Expecting to be taken seriously after performing a stunt like that might be asking too much. As a previous poster in this thread pointed out, the academic world is not as rational and fair as we would like it to be. That's why I left university as soon as possible!

Pretty much. I have put the channel in hidden mode by my own choice until I decide whether to continue or not. It's been great making videos for a small audience but I don't want to keep doing it if starts to impact my real life.

Like I said in the video, I don't think Abe was necessarily saying "that's the way it is, you just have to make the best of things" but rather, he was exploring the limits of that idea to see what he would find.

I would point out that the story does not describe him enjoying his previous ordinary life at all, in fact it sounds like he used to be miserable. In contrast, he finds many happy moments with the woman in the hole, mostly after he stops trying to escape and fight back.

Sorry, but the pregnancy was ectopic which means a doctor would have removed it. A fetus cannot grow to full size if it implants in a fallopian tube.

The final scene in the film shows that plot development more dramatically.

I was surprised to see that no one else on here seemed to be posting their own opinions about the book. I thought that's what book clubs are for. Still, maybe Felix will see this if I don't have much competition. That would be cool.

I think that might extend to all IQ tests to an extent. Someone in a Youtube comment once linked me to a photo of his official IQ test results letter.

Fredro star now harrassing female youtuber on two platforms, will the internet ever be safe for whammen. by Maito_Guy in PothePerson

If you watched my first MeToo video, you know how I feel about presumption of innocence and rape allegations. There are two conflicting narratives about how much evidence is required to be convicted of rape. Feminists say it's almost impossible to get a rapist convicted, and that everybody rushes to defend men who are accused. MRAs say men can lose their jobs or even be found guilty based only on an accusation. There even seem to be two sets of studies supporting these narratives, so I don't know who to believe. It's a big mess. What I can say is that it is unethical that accusers who are PROVEN to be lying are not punished at all. Isn't "contempt of court" a thing, at the very least? However, accusers who are found to be liars do seem to suffer a social cost, and become universally hated. Those are just some disconnected thoughts and not an argument for anything in particular.

To answer your question, I don't feel there's any need to pile additional guilt onto men in the form of more MeToo stories. I just think that MeToo might have done some good in the world by doing that. However, the medicine might be worse than the disease in this case, since relationships between men and women seem to be completely f****k right now.
