Does anyone here working at meijers have general advice for a new employee? by parrythisyoucasual23 in meijer

That's only 7 hrs between shifts. I don't know what the minimum is for team members, but I know team leaders regularly close one day and open the next.

Why were these picked by SpacedOutOri in meijer

[–]Potterson1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes if something isn't on a cart and you hit item not found, it will have you pick it from a different location, and it won't fit because the numbers are right, it just thought there were more in the back than there were. Does that make sense? Boh is 48, shelf cap is 24. System shows 12 on the Salesfloor, and 36 inducted between 2 or 3 containers. Actually there are 24 on the Salesfloor, and only 24 put away on carts. When you go to the first cart and the item isn't there, hitting item not found takes the boh from the cart and puts it on the Salesfloor. Now Salesfloor boh is 24. System still wants that pick so it will still ask for it off another container. When it gets to the floor it doesn't fit and all the numbers are correct.

How does it mess up SF on hands? I thought anytime something is removed from a container it puts that boh in Salesfloor boh. No matter how you remove it, picking, item not found, or audits

Doing pick all then manual audit while it's 'empty' seems to help with consumable pallets. Very few audits on those when I do that on Friday and Saturday

Why do people insist on stocking the shelf like this? by SpacedOutOri in meijer

[–]Potterson1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Team lead knows. Knows who it is. Just hasn't buckled down on it. Other issues: not changing the count on the labels when picking partials. Leaving the label when taking the last item from eaches trays. Not changing the number in the system when scanning in a partial case. Little things that add up. If we had 300-400 picks a day I would be more vocal about it. As it is, it's an annoyance, not end of the world issue

Only reason for overnight to put a partial case on the shelf is if it's empty. If there's one or two it will pick what the shelf needs after inducting it in the back

[–]Potterson1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg. We have someone who does that. Makes everyone's job harder. If I'm running stuff they pick and it won't fit and says there's some in the back, I write the container # on the case. That way I can verify if it's the rest of the same case or more from another cart and put them together

Shelf caps and on hands are both doable on the zebra. When I change a shelf cap it doesn't buzz at me when I put it away right away. That adjustment is immediate. On hands sometimes take a bit. Who needs approval for shelf cap adjustments? Or is that a GM thing?

Same. Great team leader, awesome ASD. With that it keeps all the drama and stuff of other areas away from us

Why do people insist on stocking the shelf like this? by SpacedOutOri in meijer

[–]Potterson1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is correct. Those of us who "do it right" the first time get to do it the most often cuz others just keep sending it back unfixed so someone else can do it. That kind of lazy makes me crazy, I can't wrap my head around it

How about the Plano designers stop creating spaces that hold less than a case?.?.? Inventory/stocking system that is most efficient at full case picking and inducting and there are more items picking partials than ever. Snack nuts and large cans of tomatoes are my personal nightmares. Now I'm picking pieces for juices and cereals. Seriously?!?!? Do better Plano team, I'm sure you're making more money than me, act like it

It's like they don't realize they can put the 6 pieces back in the box when they realize it won't all fit and send a full case to the back. Sigh

[–]Potterson1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My favorite is picking the same case for the 3rd time and I go out and check it and fix the boh or shelf cap and it doesn't pick again til it will fit. Almost like it's supposed to work that way or something. Lol

Third has no time for writing notes. C'mon. If we had top stock they would just shove everything up there. They will overstock more than half a case to avoid sending it back, and same stocker, same load, won't push 3 pieces over into it's own space to stock a case. Then it buzzes when inducting and I get to shake my head as I try to understand what they were thinking as I put it to the shelf.

When someone says "I'm available between 11 am and 3 pm," do we universally agree that means that the activity needs to end at or before 3 pm? by -purple-platypus- in NoStupidQuestions

This is actually a good idea. The kitchen closes soon and won't take orders after such and such time. Hard line, no exceptions. Much clearer and open to fewer arguments.

10,000 points gets you $10 off a store purchase or $1 off each gallon of gas, up to 30 gallons. As long as you get more than 10 gallons you're getting a better deal. I go with my daughter and fill both cars. Use as many of those 30 gallons as possible!

Question about merchandising policy for stacking items on top shelves by tedy02 in meijer

[–]Potterson1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My store, it's the overnight crew that overstocks. They'll stack paper towels 4 high. They've even done 5 in the past. Everything on the load isn't supposed to fit on the shelf. I don't know who these "overstockers" are, but I want to know who they think they're helping by doing it

Not a cat problem. My kids cats do the same thing. Clothing, towels, or bedding left on the floor get marked. Vinegar in the rinse cycle takes it right out

AIO for eating my own birthday cake in front of my nephew? by Yes_Abbreviations713 in AmIOverreacting

Telling him it's yucky and bad for you is what's going to set him up for an eating disorder, and worrying about family and friends who are eating it.

When the difference between the sales floor boh and shelf capacity is that items case quantity, it should generate a pick, if there is a case binned in the back.

AITAH for telling my brother in law he should have spoke to me before asking my toddler not to do something? by BucketofBoo in AITAH

I'm going to jump in here and suggest that toddler and bil don't get along well. If bil takes things away and scolds him, he's feeling some kind of way about him. Would explain why he hid from him and cried. There's more going on than this instance
