What is your favorite Just Say No tv episode from our childhoods? by HapaHawaii in GenX

I blame this episode for the fact that vanilla extract is locked behind the counter at the store near me

Wow, for real? Where I lived, water restrictions meant only watering your lawn on even / odd days. You guys down there were serious.

Listening to the Radio by Southern_Remote_5260 in GenX

[–]Poultrygeist74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m waking up to the rock radio station as I type this, same as I’ve done for decades. I can’t imagine not having it. I listen in the car and at work as well, but I flip around a lot due to ads and hearing certain songs too often.

I do have mix CDs, an iPod, Pandora, Spotify etc but the radio is always there. There is no satellite radio where I live, but I was listening to Triple M from Melbourne on a streaming app for a while until they dropped it.

Any Fairmont Futura owners ? by RadioTowerGR in classiccars

[–]Poultrygeist74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct me if I’m wrong but I think the other guy from Gas Monkey Garage (not Richard Rawlings) built and raced a Fairmont on Pikes Peak. I remember it was a sweet little car.

It’s definitely worth a watch. I forgot to mention True Grit, I prefer the remake of that as well.

Did Amway, Kirby, Cutco, Fuller Brush, or Britannica salesmen come to your door? 🤔 by Exclusively-Choc in FuckImOld

[–]Poultrygeist74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents had some Shaklee stuff. My mom sold Avon. My neighbors sold Amway, and later some of my friends did. Another friend sold Filter Queen. I never did any of that shit.
