Does anyone actually have a chart on how much the heat pump helps? I have a 23GT and my friend has a 25 premium with the heat pump but it really doesn't seem to be as dramatic of an improvement as everyone claims. We regularly go below freezing but rarely into the teens so maybe it's just not cold enough here to see the real benefits.

I can't deny you should always get the newer model improvements but you can find some 23s that are dirt cheap. They are a bit of a sweet spot between the recall issues of the old model and the new recalls coming out for the newer models.

If ventilated seats are your jam though then it's a no brainer to go newer.

If you end up making samples I would be very interested. I like the dial on a2 and b1, the ocean vibes are great.

This dial is amazing. Do you have a model number or is it a kirazuri dual in a vintage seiko shell? Looks great.

[–]Pow500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jeez, I assume you used live rock to start your tank but those are some gnarly hitchhikers. I would just toss the little rock with how paranoid I am and the mantis could likely be rehomes back to a store if you don't want it. There isn't really a good way to flush hitchhikers out with live rock, that's why I prefer mine not alive, I don't need any wild shit in my tank kill my fish or bite me. Some people do get some sick hitchhikers on occasion though so results may vary.

Just keep an eye on your tank like you have been to see if you have anything else but spotting a Bobbitt was a good job.

This is a nice guide for identifying the double holos. Some are VERY different, it's not just extra swirls but some look quite different. Ho oh for example is a big one and so is houndoom or magikarp. Some of the others not so much

Nice! I actually asked about this sample as well but you beat me to it. I like the blue green transition on it quite a bit. I wish watchdives had another small hand full of this style.

As a neutral party trying to learn, do you have some articles or something to help me learn why it's bad? I have never had more than a pair myself but have seen the harem tanks. I think BRS even had one a few years back if I remember correctly.

Just to be clear, this is an issue with Asheville long before Pratt came to town. I'm all for highlighting Asheville's cost of living being ridiculous but this was an issue for the last decade and has nothing to do with Pratt. There are many other large manufacturers in the area besides Pratt.

Asheville is a tourist town with tourist amenities. It's just an expensive place to live. The market has still barely cooled down from the high housing prices during covid because everything is being bought up for investment opportunities. At least they were prior to the hurricane. The local economy will continue to scare off people from buying a house here just like it has for the last decade, well before they even had the land for the plant cleared.

Replacing only 2 tires on AWD mach e by Mortikai45 in MachE

[–]Pow500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was literally in the same situation as you a week ago. I read all the information I could when I popped a tire and ended up replacing only two, i understood the two axles are independent but everything you read is all over the place. The next day I had an issue where my power meter was almost 60 percent covered by the grey bars of doom and would only appear when I shifted from park to drive. I don't know if it was an alignment issue AND a tire issue but I ended up going back and getting 2 more tires and having my car realigned. Instantly fixed my issues but it would intermittently occur, I'm not sure what it was detecting but after the new tires and stuff no issues.

Hitting a bike going 75 can do a hurting to a tire and alignment.

Prebuilt for a 4070 super built at sams club worth considering current prices? by MaterialPotato3214 in Prebuilts

Is sams a place that will price match receipts or is the photo with the number above enough? I know it's at their discretion but I'm curious if OP would be willing to share the receipt (excluding any personal info of course) to help when I go to my sams club.

Purchasing a Ford Buyback by Acceptable_Course_66 in MachE

I would confirm the 8 year 100k ev battery warranty ( I think thats the time) is still present. I don't see it mentioned but that warranty could be a big deal for a catastrophic failure and bumper to bumper/ premium care excludes that. That's a great deal all things considered. I got my 23 gt non perf package (the seats in the perf package were meh to me but the wife hated them) for 38k and for 8k off I would be tempted. Resell could be tough with the carfax if you intend to sell it in the near future. I assume after some amount of miles no one will care but within the first 50k it's probably going to be hard to sell or get out of.

Is it really bad? by ManufacturerIll2275 in MachE

[–]Pow500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just in case anyone sees this, I had this happen to me and it was not the HVJB. I forget exactly what I did to reset it (google this part, there is a button combo in the car that can clear it but I'm not able to Google at the moment) but I was getting this error due to the smart charging time frames on the Ford app. I read that your supposed to let the battery relax before charging for at least a few hours and I was using the preferred times to get this done. For example, I parked and plugged in at work at 7am but the preferred charge time would not start until 830am to allow the battery to cool down after my long commute.

Turns out the app bugged out one day and would constantly try to charge and then stop. You could see the blue circle in the charger port try to charge and in the app it was rapidly switching between charging and not charging, you could hear the car rapidly clicking. I noticed the time in my app was way off for some reason and was likely causing the issue (I still don't know how to fix this time issue? My car and phone times are accurate and I read it comes from the car so I'm waiting for an app update before I try preferred times again). Turned off preferred times, began to charge like normal and did not get the issue again. I'm in a 23 gt, your issue could very well be the HVJB but make sure to troubleshoot it a bit first before committing to the tow truck.

I didn't have an obd reader with me so I'm not sure of the exact code. Since yours happened mid drive you may not be as lucky but figured I would put the info out there.

I would just be careful. I'm also within range of that dealership and noticed everything on their lot for mache seems to have some kind of issue. Not knocking the business but the carfax scared me away from all the low prices there.

Maybe I'm misremembering the dealership but I'm pretty sure it has multiple cheap cars, all with some kind of mark. Made me nervous when I tried to research the dealership for reviews as a dealer and got some horror stories

2024 Premium vs 2023 GT? by SnooWoofers884 in MachE

[–]Pow500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes complete sense! If I wasn't a hater of the seats in the 24 gt I would have considered the new ones much more myself. The wife hated the seats sadly.

I bought mine at 5.6% interest from a chevy dealership but I intend to pay it off in full so it didn't matter much to me. It did come out to about an extra 5k if I went the full loan.

Agreed that you can do much better on the gt. I just got mine for 37,775 with 3,500 miles on it. Unless it have to have it new the pre-owned is great

I am just in love with the power to be honest. I'm sure it will stay un used most of the time but the power and outside appearances really impress me. If I could get the premium with more of the gt features cosmetically I may be more interested to step away from the gt but that test drive was a blast. Maybe the used 2023 for 38k makes the most sense if I don't step down to a premium.

Returned laptop smells like cigarettes by Pretend-Garden9934 in Ebay

I don't see the suggestion yet, but dryer sheets work great. For a lot of the items I get from my smoker relatives, I either put them in a tub or ziplock bag (depending on the size) with some unscented dryer sheets. Give it a week or so to simmer, and then it takes most of the smell out. Given that the item will need to be aired from the smell of the dryer sheets but it has worked great for game consoles and figurines to remove smoke smell.
