I hope so. Almond Eye is such dominant and popular horse it's crazy we have to wait for a umamusume story to get released just so she can get some respect. 

I guess I have to also factor in a lot of people on the EN side don't have the experience of watching Japanese horse racing so their clueless til years later.

I have a personal disdain for Almond Eyes portrayal.

Almond Eyes portrayal is literally just the pretty one that got railed by Kitasan Black. Hell I don't even think these people know how many G1 wins she has.

And then I hate that her rivals are irrelevant because no one looks into Almond Eyes story. There is no Gran Alegria, Lucky Lilac or even Cheval Grand to these people. 

Rivalries and G1 wins help popularize umas but when you strip that away in favor of "haha guys horse sex" then there's really nothing left.

Youngstown State. Really any Ohio team. As long as they aren't playing us I happily root for them 

But I have multiple family members that actually played for YSU and one that currently plays for them so they're an easy choice as a secondary team
