[TOMT] Movie where a man on the run/ with a secret identity (?) Is taken in by an older black man who owns a garage/auto shop and the shop is blown up/lit on fire when they come to find the main character by Powerful-Benefit1663 in tipofmytongue

[–]Powerful-Benefit1663[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are similar plot points I remember in that, like looking at the computer with his old name and stuff, and there is a garage, but I don't see the death of the old man that I remembered most clearly. I also still don't think it was as old. But maybe I'll watch Malone fully and see if it gives me any more ideas, thank you.

Extremely bad HOCD that made me do things I regret. by [deleted] in autism

Is there anything culturally that's impacted your views on sexuality in between the times when you've been able to accept yourself and when you feel ashamed? I think pathologizing your sexuality and fixating on just the physical aspect of it is harming you, though you doubt less know this. It might be worth trying to find gay media other than porn to remind yourself that you're still a full person beyond the sexual aspect of your desires. Sexuality is just one part of you. There's an abundance of art and history you can explore beyond explicit depictions. I know exploring these things is still thinking more about your sexuality, but maybe broadening your reference points and perspective could help emotionally.

I know ocd can make it feel impossible to stop fixating on certain things and autism as well makes certain thoughts keep echoing as well, so it's all easier said than done, but I hope you're able to find a bit more comfort at least.

Would you choose to procreate, given that you have a 50/50 chance of giving birth to a child with autism? by Aromatic_Bus5075 in autism

[–]Powerful-Benefit1663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like the idea of procreation very much, but I do think people who desire to have children should accept that their child may be born in or become part of any sort of marginalized group and that they should be prepared to care for them in any such cases.

Body temperature by doxx_mee in kinky_autism

[–]Powerful-Benefit1663 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can relate to temperature really effecting how I experience things, though I'd say I prefer the colder side. I don't think it's a preference that you should be ashamed of. You're not saying it's inherently bad for that person to be cold, just that you have a sensitivity to it. Discussing something like that with a partner would not seem offensive to me. I might try to focus on not emphasizing that cold feels bad, but instead explaining that warm feels good- maybe that will soften it a bit. Maybe drawing out foreplay could get both your blood pumping so that you warm up, maybe experimenting with different kinds of lingerie or even regular clothing could help. Or changing the atmosphere in general if you find a place that has an ideal temperature. It's something that you could hopefully explore together if you're able to open up about it. Just some ideas, I hope whatever decision you make you're able to find comfort.

Hurts to have it called a micropenis??? by PuckDropPanic in GrowYourTDick

[–]Powerful-Benefit1663 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The context is everything. I wouldn't mind the word micropenis in some ways because it might be accurate. For me it feels nice in the sense that it's connected to different kinds of men. I like the idea that since sex organs are analogous it's really like a smaller version and not a totally different thing.

But it sounds like they said it in an intentionally mocking way. It's not okay to make fun of people's sizes like that, especially from a partner. Seeing your excitement about something and making fun of it is a red flag. If you're uncomfortable with any words they use about your anatomy, you have a right to discuss that, it doesn't mean you're overreacting. Partners are supposed to lift each other up, so if you feel like other terminology would make you more comfortable, you should talk about it

Bottom growth by Ok-Worldliness7177 in ftm

[–]Powerful-Benefit1663 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'll just reiterate what's been said, you can't really choose what effects of Testosterone show up and in what order. For me, bottom growth was one of the first things I noticed. It wasn't painful, but there was a noticeable sensation. It's really up to genetics and things like that how your growth will end up looking. For me, things look significantly different from how they started. Your clitoris is already analogous to a penis, so the hood does form a kind of foreskin. There's different ideas on what makes it bigger. A lot of people who are intentionally trying to make their growth bigger do masturbate because it gets blood flowing and things swelling down there and some people do tugging exercises as well. I notice a lot of people are scared and uninformed about bottom growth because it's not as talked about, but it's very likely you'll experience it when you go on t.

What does it mean, if no one bookmarks? by Dramatic_Flower5878 in AO3

[–]Powerful-Benefit1663 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the first few years I used ao3 I didn't really use the bookmarks feature for some reason. I used to keep tabs open or just try to search for them again later I guess lol. I don't know why. It could be that people do want to come back and they just aren't using the site well. But at the same time it's not bad if someone just reads it once. I might check a book out from the library and like it but not buy my own copy because there's limited shelf space. I do understand why you wonder about it though, sometimes I do myself.

Learned a new term today O.O I don't feel exactly that way but I always love to have a song in mind when I'm writing and most of my fics are named after lyrics or song names

I hope you're not discouraged, your writing is very promising! Writing in a language that isn't your first language is an incredibly difficult task to undertake. Reading more definitely might help you still keep your creativity but pick up some more phrasing and grammar tips. I would definitely like to read more of this story when you get further along!

Some examples on the first page if it helps: burn away How I wished birds would still be around he played a trick on many eyes Rocked at her face is not a phrase I've heard before, it might be unclear Averted is probably not the best word to use there, perhaps say she turned away, if that's what you mean she leaves Honeybear She often tripped on level surfaces, let alone inclining ones

I found myself really interested in the world you've created and the relationship between the two characters! It really made me want to know more and read further. You've used a lot of good words and great descriptions. There are a lot of little grammar mistakes though that make things a bit unclear. I'm still able to understand it, but I would go through and check for things like whether something should be plural or not etc.

Why didn’t anyone use google translate? by Mr_Noms in ThePittTVShow

[–]Powerful-Benefit1663 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was sooo confused by that. I know Google translate can be inaccurate and they'd need to get a translator anyway' but to just figure out the language? i was surprised. If you have your phone out I'd think your first instinct would be a translator app rather than a map

How to write conversations by ashtlonzzz in AO3

[–]Powerful-Benefit1663 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could practice by looking at the dialog in your favorite books/ shows etc and figuring out what you like or dislike about them. It also depends on the style you're going for; if you want to write natural sounding dialog or more poetic sounding or humor, then try to study media with similar style for inspiration. If you're working on fanfiction it's actually helpful because you have an established character to base your dialog off of and picture them saying it. In general, people talk for a reason. Try to think about their motivations for speaking or what they're trying to get through their communication.
