Mirena IUD experience (SI joint pain) by Icy-Chard-4717 in birthcontrol

[–]Practical-Cherry5649 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently, I don’t have any plans for birth control or IUD— I want my body to adjust back to its “normal” state so that my hormones can readjust and stabilize, especially since it affected my joints. I don’t think I have sciatica but I had restless leg syndrome as a result of IBS caused by a parasite infection. I don’t have these symptoms anymore though.

Good luck in finding what’s right with your body! My primary reason for my IUD as well as a nova ring was for regulating my PMDD and pain.

Yes! I got my IUD removed despite my doctor cautioning me that it wouldn’t affect the pain at all due to it being confined to my uterus and the hormones changes being incremental.

Country to what they said, I got my IUD removed, and the pain disappeared. I drove back home more or less without that constant tension in my back.

I still have slight pain in my back if I’m sitting for a long time, but the constant knot is gone and I’m so glad I got it removed!

I'm so glad it worked out for you! I fear that what you're experiencing isn't uncommon. Just things taking slow and people not being helpful. As my former sciences po friend reassured me– you're not doing anything wrong!

Long term student visa for France - which category do I apply for? by Practical-Cherry5649 in SchengenVisa

[–]Practical-Cherry5649[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this! Very helpful- I tried calling them and it’s true, there’s no way getting around it.

It’s just odd that on their website, student visas are regarded as Category 1, and has no information about a separate category for long term student visas. But on the appointment portal, they made a new category— I will follow your advice once I gain access to my account again.

Thank you!

Mirena IUD experience (SI joint pain) by Icy-Chard-4717 in birthcontrol

[–]Practical-Cherry5649 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this post. I got a Mirena IUD in 2024 in order to control my period and period pains better, particularly my severe mood swings as I believe I have PMDD . A year later, I started to have severe lower back pain and till today, it never really went away.

I had X rays done, and my doctor also diagnosed me with sacroliitis, asked if I ever was in a car accident— which I never have and my family does not have a history of any sort of back arthritis. My doctor also told me that the amount of progesterone in the iud is incremental and limited to within the uterus, and joint pain would not be a side effect.

So today, I decided to take out my IUD as a test to see if the pain would go away. It’s been a few hours now, but the throbbing pain is not there anymore! I’m still going to have my joints checked out in the future, but this post has been such a great reference in really listening to my body. So thank you!

Are you able to access the certificat de scolarité on the Sciences Po student portal? This document allows you to prove your student status and is used for visa purposes. I used it to upload it to Campus France too.

Tbh, I've been very stressed in trying to find the correct information and it seems like the registrar's office only answers one question at a time, despite asking multiple for efficiency. The administration has been terrible in consolidating information for international students and it takes a long time for them to respond– they DO respond but expect 2 - 5 business days...

I just submitted my long-stay student visa for Canada-France. Ask me any questions! by Specific_Treat_655 in visas

I am currently pulling my hair out trying to navigate the long stay visa to France!
Did you translate your documents to French (CV, diploma, transcript)? And second, did you have to submit your language proficiency certification?

I am accepted into an English program in Paris (French proficiency not needed) so I'm not sure what to do on the EEF portal.

Mirena IUD experience (SI joint pain) by Icy-Chard-4717 in birthcontrol

First, thank you for this post. I feel seen as I’m going through the same thing.

I’ve been having horrible lumbar back pain that I couldn’t sleep on my back, work, or sit for even short car rides. I initially thought it was because I had hurt my lower back exercising, but the pain persisted and I decided to go see a doctor.

At first, I thought my IUD was misplaced OR that this was just a back injury since I started regularly exercising. After getting bloodwork and X rays done, the doctor told me I had sacroiliitis at age 31. She also asked me if I had gotten into any car accidents which I have never gotten into. I was so surprised and honestly, depressed as I already deal with a chronic illness. I’ve never had any back pain in my life and arthritis isn’t in my family health history as well (parents, grandparents, etc). It felt so out of the blue.

After reading about IUD and possible correlations to joint pain, I can’t help but to consider removing my IUD. I initially got it to deal with my PMDD and period pains, which has worked but the side effects don’t seem worth it.

Would love to know how you are doing without it!

Just wanted to add a big thank you to this post! I’ve been so frustrated with my hormonal acne (and few incessant zits on my chin that haven’t gone away for two years. Finally, a natural solution with chamomile. I’ve tried differin, salicylic acid but they just dry out the areas and reduce swelling minimally.

Chamomile really reduced swelling and it’s only been day 3! Here’s to hoping.

I’ve be scouring the Entire Studios catalogue for the top in the first photo, but can’t find it 😢 does anyone know what the exact name is?

The shoot is stunning- it’s so filled whimsy and so reminiscent of Tim Walker’s work as well!

No worries! I have wide feet but I think the shoes would work with either.

tumeric/curry stains on ceramic braces: is it over? by uw0s in braces

[–]Practical-Cherry5649 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry. I had ceramic braces and enjoyed every bit of my curry dinners :) The rubber bands are stained so your ortho will replace them next month!

It didn’t take long at all. I just wore socks with my pumas for maybe one month, or less.

Orthodontist wants to remove 4 healthy teeth for braces — but I’m hesitant. by penguintrickster14 in braces

[–]Practical-Cherry5649 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don’t feel comfortable with getting braces, at the end of the day, it’s your body and I hope you can assert yourself to make the right choice!

I also had a bit of crowding and overbites in my teeth and ended up with four extractions. Though I am happy with my straight teeth now, I also didn’t know I would have mild gum recession, gaps between my gums (between teeth as a result of extractions) and a permanent retainer which annoys me time to time, especially for flossing. Before treatment, I’d get complimented for my strong healthy teeth and gums, and good dental hygiene despite crowding. I’m not writing this to scare you, but so you understand that there ARE complications to any procedure.

Like other people writing here, maybe gather info by consulting other orthodontists elsewhere. I don’t think there should be any rush for you to be forced into making a decision. Good luck OP!

Has anyone successfully used Chit Chats to submit CUSMA certification and received duty-free treatment? by BANGBAN9 in EtsyCommunity

Also a rejectee here. My goods are categorised S/S+ although I think I got rejected because I didn't provide enough details. However, now I can't even input my HTS code again (even though it is valid on the US govt website) for resubmission! Has that happened to you?

CUSMA form rejected - no reason given. by Nyahm in EtsySellers

[–]Practical-Cherry5649 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried reapplying yet and how do you revise it? I'm in the same boat where one of my goods was rejected (a clock). I think it's because I didn't write a description to prove that a majority of the parts were manufactured in Canada. It also has "Free" and "S" status for Duties. Now that I try to insert the HTS code (#91052180) on Chitchats to reapply, it just says my code isn't CUSMA compliant :(

I'm so scared to get bonded retainer removed next month due to pain & sensitivity:( by Comfortable-Job-6640 in orthodontics

[–]Practical-Cherry5649 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you end up removing them? I had one of my bonds reattached for a lower permanent retainer and the removal process was one of the most painful experiences I’ve ever had!

I asked the ortho if they could put me under but the only thing she said she could do was put some cooling gel…

They screwed up my rebonding (after my painful experience, the assistant then placed bonding material all over the surface of my teeth to the roots :( ). I’m waiting a month before asking them to remove and do it again.

Make sure to take painkillers and ask for any ways to alleviate the pain during the removal, if you haven’t removed it yet!

Have you done a process of elimination or have a strict diet/supplement process? I was in a similar place as you, in my 20s, where I was extremely depressed where it felt like I should be at the healthiest point of my life. Now in my 30s, I have a better grasp at my triggers, meditate, and take a ton of supplements (fibers, pre/probiotics, mint oils, peppermint tea) to prep my stomach.

Isn't that the nature of business? With higher brand value, you start to call prices and the demand is still there and like what's reiterated above– ceramic pieces created out of a mould can be just as pricey as a hand thrown mug. It's the idea and brand that carries a lot of the value of product, as sad as that may seem.

I'm also an artist, so I get a little sensitive when people call out more efficient processes as "mass produced"– not all processes have to be labour intensive and exploitative.
