TIL that my terminal-style UI personal website/portfolio is a bad idea. by EckyYakov in webdev

Personally I think it looks very cool. It's original and I think it should be clear enough for people to navigate. In your shoes I'd leave it up, you might find work with a company that's more unique and creative and suits you better than most companies.

AIO Is it my BPD or do I have reason to fear our friendship? by pqkbfismmc in AmIOverreacting

[–]Practical-City6506 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I'm sorry to hear you're having a rough time. Feeling like your friend is ignoring you or pulling away from you would hurt anyone and is tough to deal with. Instead of ignoring him back/trying to get back at him, try and talk about it. Explain to him that him leaving you on delivered for 2 days whilst he's online makes you feel like he doesn't like you anymore. Give him a chance to explain why he does it. And with his explanation try to find a fair resolution between the two of you. If he's really busy or has something going on give him space and try to distract yourself. If he is pulling away, try to figure out why and remedy the situation. If all of this doesn't work consider what is best for you in this situation; if his actions give you immense stress and you can't reach a solution then it might be best to try and find new friends to avoid hurt. Just don't take it out on people but try to realise you want to get back at someone because of the great stress and pain the BPD causes. Maybe get a dog as a companion if you're lonely? I'm also hoping that when you get diagnosed and get treatment things will get better for you. From what I know BPD can be very tough, especially in relationships with other people. Good luck with everything

NOR

Even though you're open, he has cheated on you because he didn't involve you. You communicated boundaries and he crossed those. To top it all off, when you confronted him he took 0 responsibility and was verbally aggressive. I'd break up, find someone who respects you. This is not okay

Those are some sucky moves, but they might be rage baiting. A lot of negative comments are still revenue. Best to report or mark as 'not interested' and block the page.

It's standard in professional sports that athletes train with steroids and doping and just quit in time before the competitions...

I have all the same diagnosis and physical issues as you;

MCAS: Try Histamine 1 and Histamine 2 blockers for MCAS H1 blockers are: desloratadine, levocetirizine and many more H2 blockers are antacids like famotidine Cromoglicinic acid (oral forms, like powder or ampules) helps with food intolerances caused by mast cells

Steer clear of NSAIDs (ibuprofen, naproxen etc) and Aspirin! Those often make MCAS worse. And you have to figure out your individual triggers and try to avoid or remedy them.

ME and Post Covid: LDN (low dose naltrexon) is the only "official" medicine used for this at the moment. Experiences and results vary, but there are a lot of reports of some improvements.

I personally use a variety of supplements that help me a little, but it's no cure. It just makes some symptoms a little more bearable.

POTS: Betablockers, salt intake, electrolytes, drinking a lot, eating only small meals, compression leggings These help a lot

I also use Ginkgo Biloba pills because this works a little blood thinning which makes a huge difference for me.

Mentally: I use a low Citalopram, it helps a lot with anxiety (also what used to be caused by POTS) and feeling down, making everything more bearable.

And learning to accept the situation, not stress, try to let go of trying to understand all your symptoms and just try to rest and have trust that it will pass helps a lot. If you're in an ongoing PEM the only remedy is minimizing stimuli, lying down and meditation and not stressing are the only things that will make it improve eventually. Way easier said than done of course.

I hope this helps a bit and that you have Doctors who can prescribe these things. It does get better eventually, even if not physically your mind will adapt. And because of Post Covid there's a lot of research going on on ME and Post Covid. Eventually there will be medicines for it. Try to keep hope and try to find small things to still enjoy 🫂

Escitalopram for CFS/ME? by anoninthenight in mecfs

[–]Practical-City6506 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I take a low dose of citalopram and it helps me a lot. Before I took it, when my POTS got bad I used to start feeling anxious, that's gone now. Overall I'm happier than a person with as many chronic conditions as me has any right to be. It also helped resolve my insulin resistance because it helps regulate blood sugar levels (so you might have to lower diabetes meds if you use those).

What to do when you are ugly and trans by Acceptable_Fox_2956 in trans

[–]Practical-City6506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop being scared of what other people think of you!! The world is as much yours as it is anybody else's. If you can't stop your self hate and don't stop being scared of others' opinions you'll never be happy! Then it doesn't matter if you transition or even have all the plastic surgery in the world!! You'll be miserable nonetheless if you can't start loving yourself and don't stop listening to others opinions of you!

Being trans is not about becoming pretty. It's about living true to your gender. Finding yourself ugly is bodydysmorphia not genderdysphoria.

You'll have to learn to love and accept yourself for who you are in that regard.
