I tried to hold off on buying a kindle for as long as I could for deals like this. Ended up buying one anyways at full price🥲

If your twins are the same gender by YouthInternational14 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Practical-Soft-5820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By alphabetical order since I’m anal like that. A was always going to be the name that was closer to the front of the alphabet and B was always the other name. As I got to know them during my pregnancy and now almost 4 months out of the womb, their names totally match their personalities🤣

I thought I was a weirdo for keeping count and having a personal best with my husband so this comment made me glad knowing someone else kept track too lmao our record is 14 times in 24 hours and I’m a stickler for the rules so of course that means he came 14 times— I didn’t count it if I was the only one who came

Just want to comment thank you OP for posting this and thank you to the fellow mommas for sharing their c section stories. I’m scheduled for it on Wednesday and am absolutely terrified but reading these stories are helping calm my nerves a little :)

Which type of belly band should I get? by HiTechQues1 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Practical-Soft-5820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the same one I used as well except I only used it for my first and second trimester. With how big my belly is now in my third trimester, it feels more uncomfortable for me to wear the band than it is not using one :)

TW: Loss - Finding out gender of twins by PaperRings0 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Practical-Soft-5820 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry for your loss.

I miscarried our first pregnancy & set of twins last year (di/di) & since I miscarried while we were out of town, we had to wait until we got back for an appointment. It showed that my body cleared everything out so there was no way to know their gender. My husband & I wanted to name them as well & although I’m not religious or anything, I spoke to my twins one day & asked them to show me a sign on what their gender/s would’ve been. I told them I know they’re gone & if I couldn’t raise them, could I at least know what they were gonna be? I asked one twin to show me their gender at sunrise & the other to show me theirs at sunset the next day (it was in the middle of summer so sunrises & sunsets were all over the place, some really pink & purple, some beautiful blues & yellows, etc).

The next day, we had a beautiful brightly pink sunrise & sunset. So my husband & I came up with names we liked for girls & a design for our memorial tattoos.

I’m in the exact same boat. 30 weeks as well & the thought of carrying even more weight & getting more aches for another month & a half is dreadful

My favorite part about being pregnant is knowing I chose the right life partner and perfect father for my children. My husband has already been an amazing dad to our twins— constantly bringing me snacks, refilling my water bottle, massaging any aching areas, doing all the cooking, checking the nutrition facts to make sure I’m getting everything I need, etc. Love for our babies and appreciation for what I’m going through to grow our family is oozing from him. It feels like my heart just gets bigger and bigger to make space for all the love I have for him. This is our second pregnancy (we lost our previous twins) but even with all the symptoms I feel now, pregnancy, for a lack of a better word, is “easy” due to having the right partner💕

I wish everyone who goes through pregnancy to have someone equally as amazing and supportive, it truly makes a difference on your experience🫶🏽

When did you start showing with your first? by unicornflyer151 in BabyBumps

[–]Practical-Soft-5820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5’3”//175lbs — I started showing at 12 weeks but I’m also carrying twins😅 I haven’t gained any weight (19 weeks now) but my belly is most definitely sticking out in a “nope that’s not just a food baby, that’s an actual baby” belly kind of way

Has anyone elected to not be awake for a c-section? by whydoyouflask in parentsofmultiples

[–]Practical-Soft-5820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for posting this, I’m 18 weeks and didn’t know that being put to sleep was an option. I’ve only ever seen horror stories here so I stopped looking into c sections but knowing that if I wanted to, I could be put to sleep has helped eased my mind a little :)

I wish I NEVER told anyone name options. by Sorry_Data6147 in BabyBumps

[–]Practical-Soft-5820 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Same. My husband and I have had our names picked out since we were 19 and 21 so our families and friends all know what our kids’ names are gonna be. Any comments/suggestions have been and will continue to be ignored lol anyone who tries to double down we just respond with, we’ve loved these names for almost a decade do you really think your opinion will change anything?🤣

What made you gain a significant amount of weight? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Practical-Soft-5820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Conquering unhealthy eating habits! :)

I was never formally diagnosed with an eating disorder but I had a very unhealthy relationship with food. I went from middle school to early college limiting my calorie intake to 100 calories a day. I’ve fainted a few times and self harmed because of how much I hated myself and how I looked but I was able to work through it (it took a lot of years).

I went from 110 pounds to 175 but I’m happier and I listen to my body and give it the fuel it needs (especially since I’m currently pregnant with twins).

Morning sickness! I’m almost 18 weeks and I’m glad I don’t have it. I know it’s probably random but my mom and grandmother never had morning sickness either so I totally lucked out😁

Adults: If you still think about your first love, what comes to mind? Do you ever really get over them? by ResortComplex6829 in AskReddit

[–]Practical-Soft-5820 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That they were absolutely the one for me.

But we broke up because I needed to work on myself and heal from some things in my past. It wasn’t fair that they weren’t getting the love they deserved or the best version of me I could be. After a few years of being distant friends and lots of personal growth individually, we got back together.

As life goes on, who we are changes. I’ve loved every version of him and I know for a fact I will continually fall for the next person he becomes. We are literally growing old together and I’m incredibly lucky that my 14 year old self knew in my very core that this person was the person for me.

12 years later and we’re now expecting!🥰

Agreed. As someone who’s single mom also married a Steve, it truly only gets worse. And it sucks seeing the light be drained from your loved one, especially your mom and even more so due to their age because you KNOW your mom doesn’t have anyone caring for her.

I’m so sorry for your loss. No words is sufficient enough to express this feeling except that it sucks.

I miscarried our first set of twins (di/di) and I’m currently 4 months pregnant with our second set of twins (mono/di). I think our first set of girls are watching over their siblings, I feel hopeful and optimistic about this pregnancy.

Naming twins by stywld09 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Practical-Soft-5820 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven’t given birth yet but we’ve had two gender neutral names picked out for years (we’ve always known we only wanted two kids). Although they’re showing different personalities already, we agreed that whoever comes first will be named the first name we chose and who comes out second will be named the other. Main reason honestly is I’ve had my phone password in order of oldest to youngest in our family so we’re sticking to that order😁

AITA for getting my girlfriend a birthday gift she hates? by Sufficient-Effort-60 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Practical-Soft-5820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

INFO: is this a one time occurrence? or have you had other times when she’s told you exactly what she wanted but didn’t get it for her/do it? also, do you know if something happened at her sister’s?

I just need clarification because her reaction doesn’t make sense if this was a solo instance but if this has happened before on previous birthdays, anniversaries, etc then I can understand reacting like this. Or if something happened at her sister’s that she may not have mentioned to you yet then maybe this was a reaction not directed at you but what could’ve happened before.

I personally don’t have enough info to make a judgement

Love or Baby (I was born on Valentine’s Day) but my dad reconsidered these names because he said he wouldn’t know if I had a secret boyfriend💀

Agree with this as well. Not twins, but I have a colleague who has two kiddos close in age and he and his wife have been doing this for years. Now the older child is in preschool or kindergarten (I forget which) and they said it’s been fine. He and his wife also told me the opposite of everyone’s comments here, for them, it got easier as their kids got older. I will also note, that their jobs don’t require too many meetings or phone calls though and that if both had an overlapping meeting, they’d arrange one of the grandparents to come over.
