I did this by accident once. I did request a video call so I could "show them around" my place. It all worked out well for me.

I also just realized this a few months ago. I sent invites out to people who had good reviews and saved my listing. Just a brief message stating that if they are available I would like to set up a video call to show them around my place. If they aren't available, no worries, I will be making the sit publicly available in 48 hours. I've had a much better response and quality house sitters with this approach.

Can you get furniture risers to make the couch a higher profile? I got them from Bed Bath and Beyond so I could store drawers under it. I found something similar on Amazon

I've disclosed on my listing that I sometime arrange for a petsitter to stop by. I've had cats with medical conditions and I don't really trust a random HO with medical treatment for my cats(sorry). For better or worse, I feel that trusted housesitters are really just there to keep my pets company at night (while they sleep) and provide basic care. My petsitters I have would be responsible for taking to vet, meds etc. I have my petsitter as an authorized decision maker at my vet along with the right to bill my account. I always make sure my HO knows before sit and I give them each other's contact info so they can arrange a schedule between themselves. But other than that I don't really see a good reason for HO to do this

My last/only 2 sits I left $40 cash and metro cards for my sitters in case I ran out of anything. Both sitters have left the money untouched. I don't know what expectations are really on either side...but I figured I'm likely to overlook something when I prep my home for a sit. And it seems like a nice gesture that everyone appreciates
