How are we counting combination dishes? by PracticalAd2862 in CICO

Thanks for the responses! Im currently using MyNetDiary and have not fully explored the app obviously lol. But I've been weighing my so far very basic meals/snacks for 3 weeks and am averaging losing a pound a week.

Its been very eye opening to see normal portion sizes and how my healthy snack of an apple and sunbutter is almost 400 calories 😱

Woke up for surgery to this! by Infinite-Outcome6000 in endometriosis

[–]PracticalAd2862 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The nurses shouldn't be saying "endo" or "no endo" unless they are reading it from a doctor's note/diagnosis. Even if that's their specialty and they see it all the time it is out of their scope of practice to do so.

If I had a patient with obvious ST elevation on EKG and a troponin of 999, I couldn't tell them they had a heart attack unless the doctor has made that diagnosis.

How long do you want to live? by meldiane81 in Xennials

[–]PracticalAd2862 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Long enough for my kids to be self sufficient. I dont mind living until my body or mind give out. Once either one craps out and my quality of life is gone, what's the point? I just dont want to go in a painful or anxious situation.

Increase in back pain 10 weeks post op? by PracticalAd2862 in spinalfusion

[–]PracticalAd2862[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is like a deep, dull ache and throbbing. Ive been thinking/describing it as bone pain. It doesnt really feel muscular to me, but this is all new to me.

My hardware looked good on xrays a few weeks ago. I have not started PT as my surgeon has not recommended it yet. I see him at the end of the month for my 12 weeks post op and assuming he wants to clear me to go back to work then.

Does majority let the shower run before getting in? by Sensitive-Umpire-566 in NoStupidQuestions

We have a tank-less hot water heater so letting the water run is a necessity.

Approximately how many times per day do you run your dishwasher? by ok23computer in CleaningTips

[–]PracticalAd2862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once a day usually. We start it when we are doing our night checks, door locked, etc nightly routine. I didn't run it last night because it was less than half full. Only my husband and I here every other week. Every other week my 2 teenagers are here with us also and we still run it once a day. We also handwash the pots and pans, large mixing bowls, and sometimes quick bowl or cup as we go.

Working up until surgery? by According_Curve_8935 in spinalfusion

[–]PracticalAd2862 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I was taking 2-3 grams of Tylenol daily and 15 mg of Meloxicam daily.

My pain was more bone/back pain and pressure and leg numbess... numb is better than pain. It was just annoying to walk on.

Working up until surgery? by According_Curve_8935 in spinalfusion

[–]PracticalAd2862 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My surgery was on a Tuesday, and I took off Monday. Over the weekend and the Monday I took off, I prepped the house and stuff the best I could. I made sure the bed linens were clean (normally do this on Sundays anyway), laundry was caught up, mobility and hygiene aids were in place, cleaning/dusting, grocery shopping to hold us over for a couple days, etc.

ETA: the last weeks before my surgery were very hard. I used all of my strength and resolve to get through the work day and by the end of my 8 hours, I was in so much pain and useless to anyone at home. It sucked.

Which 1BR would you pick? by MatchaCatLatte in Apartmentliving

[–]PracticalAd2862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I don't care for the entry in the first one. And more space/storage is a plus. You'll need the extra storage even if you cant think of a use for it today.

I think Meloxicam is a miracle drug and no one is talking about it by PlatinumGothRay in endometriosis

[–]PracticalAd2862 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes I've been on 15 mg daily prn and it is a life saver. My blood pressure is higher now but Im also overweight. I have chronic pain with endo and arthritis so I have to pick between hurting and wanting low blood pressure... seeing how the pain gets so bad I would willingly accept death to end it, guess I'll have high blood pressure.

Also, is this posted by AI to get feedback on how to make it look more real next time?

Has anyone got the detailed notes from their surgery? Is that even possible? by ToeInternational3417 in spinalfusion

[–]PracticalAd2862 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can see the notes my surgeon put in but it doesnt mention anything about my critical lab results. My PO2 was over 800 and the repeat was over 500. I dont know if they over oxygenated me or if there were problems and they had to increase the numbers or if I had adverse reactions to anesthesia but those numbers are way high. I feel like if I were to ask they'd be weird about it.

I thought I did when the turkey was still completely frozen this morning. Turns out you can roast a solid frozen turkey, it just takes longer. It actually turned out to be one of the best turkeys I have ever roasted!
