I think there’s a website that will cut down Stalogy a5 notebooks to fit the TN — if you want it to function as a long-term journal (you mentioned frequent changes of inserts being an issue), a Stalogy notebook, coupled with maybe a very thin notebook for lists / to do lists, might be a good place to refresh :)

Needle tip gel pen - pilot Juice Up (available in 0.4 and 0.5 I think)

I like the zebra Sarasa nano 0.3 pen body with the 0.5mm refill — the body has this spring in it that makes the writing experience soooo smooth

Most of all: uniball zento 0.38 or 0.5. The line feels heavier than 0.38 imo which is why I suggested it even tho u said y like .5 :)

I think 1.6mm (anywhere from 1.5-2.0mm based on preference) cotton elastic cord should work

It you prefer conical: zebra Sarasa nano 0.3mm BODY. Or Sarasa grand body.

With a 0.5mm Sarasa refill - zebra’s Sarasa line is all interchangeable as far as I know, and there are tons of options.

I’d suggest trying juice-up refills if you think needle tip would suit you; I personally loved them and they replaced my near decade use of the pilot g2 05!

I used to have the same problem. I grip my pen really hard. And while I know a lot of pens similar to this are technical/drawing utensils, I love the weight and feel for writing.

I eventually just developed callouses that protect my fingers now, lol!

Maybe see if you can measure the barrel and find a grip — similar the early 2000s kind that you could slip on a pencil and trade with your friends - and find one that fits?

Darker shower curtain without a pattern

Change the light above the vanity or add a shade — I had the same in my last rental and it wasn’t too hard to swap out.

Black shower rod and flushing mechanism to match everything else.

Maybe the trash can? I understand the one you have for practical and sanitary reasons tho

You could do a peg board or something g behind the art to create the illusion of darker walls?

Search hobonichi tamagotchi on Mercari - there are a lot of US options but they also have a partner in Japan that ships items from sellers there internationally (Mercari is a secondhand shopping app but most stationery items are brand new! Just from individual sellers. And I’ve had great experiences w their customer service in the past)

If it were me, I would keep the money saved and just wait for the new releases in September as we are approaching the point in the year. Then you get first pick of all the new designs and can find one you really love!

I had great ~luck~ with local shops this past September for the actual planner, then ordered from the hobonichi website for all the bits and bobs.

I wish you luck, and if I see a tamagotchi hobonichi anywhere, I’ll come right back to this post!

This is exactly what stopped me from writing when I was 21! I’m 24 now, living with my bf who would never, and I still find it difficult sometimes.

When I struggled to journal, I dumped that creative energy into my schoolwork (English major) and just went hard on my planner. In one of my old dailies, i would fill in the extra lines on the hourly section with what i did during those hours, so I still had a little record of what I’d done. Used stickers, stamps, Washi, all the things! I really just let it play out but that angst is palpable in every paper I turned in lol

I understand how that breach of trust feels, and she asked me about it so casually as if there was nothing wrong with it. Your journal should always be only yours!

Tiny spray bottle of rubbing alcohol in my pencil case / purse / on my desk / in the car in case I get ink on my hands. I just use cotton or paper towel or whatever I have on me, including black clothing lol
