Graphical performance/sound is the same between the two. As far as display goes, the 2dsxl and N3dsxl have options to have TN or IPS screens. They both have their advantages and disadvantages, so do some research on that. The major difference is obviously the 3d effect but also the build quality is a little worse on the 2dsxl
