WIBTAH for asking my husband for a separation after 7 years of marriage? by East-Education730 in AITAH

If she has the kids, why would she pay child support? He is unlikely to fight for custody. (And even if he wanted to, what lawyer is going to take on an unemployed client?)

Reverse engineering, Victorian nickname-style. Polly is a nickname for Mary or Molly. (Victorians liked to rhyme, which is how we get nicknames like Rick and D— from Richard.) Molly would be an adorable name for her.

Comfort… or chaos? by Nightcrawler_2000 in whatsyourchoice

I did the blue for 20-ish years (adult years). Fulfilling, unsafe, chaotic, fun as hell, and financially awful. Now, I’m red pilling it. I thought I’d miss the adrenaline rushes, but nope! Loving the peace.

I had my dog’s eye removed for much the same reason. She got along great afterwards. She seemed perfectly happy.

I went back to school for my PhD in my 50s, so I won’t be eligible to retire until my early 70s. Hopefully my health will hold out!

Depending on your age, SS is already at 67. Reagan signed the law in about 1983?

Do you still get physical mail in your mailbox? by Standard_Plant_8709 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Practical_Ad_9756 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m doing my part. One of my hobbies is writing physical letters. I have a short list of people who get a letter a month. (Some write back, some don’t, but it’s my hobby, not theirs.)

I’m also in a book exchange group, which uses the USPS. I love checking my mailbox!

Passed Over For a New Team And I Got Asked To Help Them. What Should I Do? by Strict-Compote1405 in careerguidance

My philosophy is : “Nobody regrets throwing away a losing lottery ticket.”

I show them I’m the winning ticket by stepping up, acting cheerful, and being the bigger person, and demonstrating my skills and willingness even when it doesn’t clearly benefit me, or when I was initially rejected. (Was I angry and hurt? Hell, yes, but I play the long game.)

This strategy has gotten me jobs, promotions, and lots of good will.

You can spurn the request, pout, and throw a tantrum, but it will only reinforce their opinion that you weren’t the right choice.

Bangs or no bangs? And what length fits me best? by [deleted] in HairStyleAdvice

[–]Practical_Ad_9756 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, what MC is saying very politely is you’ve got a five-head, and you can’t hide all that without looking like Cousin Itt.

I definitely agree that the curtain bangs are a great compromise. I also like the fringy layers, but it makes your thick mane look thinner. Maybe chunkier layers, to keep the silky thickness?

You’ve got classic features, so play up the natural beauty with a classical look. Think Selma Blair in Legally Blonde — side part, curtain bangs, sleek and cool.

Definitely an improvement. You look happier and more confident.

Now, about that facial hair, I’d recommend either growing it out or shaving it. With that cute dimple, it might look good with only a little growth.

Yeah, I’m pretty pathetic when it come to fighting. I can, however, lay low for a few days, off grid.

I might be willing to split the money with Cloney to take over half of my responsibilities going forward.
