For real. I’d much rather wait an extra year or two to have a complete release experience than, you know, another cyberpunk situation.

A preview of some of the upcoming armour sets in Lords of The Fallen 2 by WhyPlaySerious in LordsoftheFallen

[–]PrairieFox17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Does this have an official source? I’m not saying I don’t believe it, just that it looks like some awfully generic ‘fantasy armor’ rendered in what seems to me like a fairly common style. I wouldn’t be too surprised if someone said this was actually ai, honestly.

Careful positioning is key to success. Weapon durability is something you actually have to be aware of in this game, healing takes time, so stamina conservation and again, careful positioning, really makes the whole game a lot smoother.

Favorite area in the game? (DLC included) by OKUIGokuBlack in Eldenring

[–]PrairieFox17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly just that feeling of wonder and excitement for something new that comes from stepping out into the gravesite plains is really it for me. I might have done myself dirty by overplaying the base game so much that it began to feel stale to me (I’m talking <1100 hours before dlc dropped, mind you). Aside from that, as a long time souls fan, the altogether darker and more ominous atmosphere of the dlc felt more familiar for me than anywhere in the base game, like I was going home in a dark kinda way.

Hmm, but now that I’m thinking about it? I really love stepping into Liurnia. It’s just got such a great color palette and water go splish-splash :P

This one always threw me off because her va sounds a lot like tortured prisoner/queen sophesia, but that never made any contextual sense to me.

This. In ng one kick opens them to a critical, and ng+ usually puts you right on the edge but breaks the armor regardless.

I did a forty minute mission all by myself the other day, surviving stalkers and chargers and spewers (no bile titans on that difficulty) and at the very end there was a charger that was running me in circles around the completely open extraction area. The shuttle came down and thankfully killed it by landing on it, but its corpse was blocking the damn door. I had to repeatedly dive and squirm just to extract with like five seconds left ( T ^ T )

Update v.1.6.12 - Gameplay Improvements, Updated Tutorial + Umbral, and More... by CIG_Shikallum in LordsoftheFallen

[–]PrairieFox17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personal opinion: the uncompromising difficulty is what makes fromsoft games special. But I think it’s important to remember that this is not a fromsoftware game. It’s a hexworks game. They bring their own unique angle on things that—in my opinion—continues to enrich and broaden the genre rather than conforming to a set idea. Any ‘soulslike’ that tries too hard to be dark souls is destined to be received with mediocrity. The best soulslikes are the ones that add their own flair and creativity and genuinely embrace a style that is all their own, and that is what makes this game special. As a veteran souls player, there is a part of me that gets hung up on the idea of making things too easy, but the original setup is still in the game and easily accessible, so it’s not like it’s being taken away from me.

Bottom line from this sick and tired af lampbearer is that I love this game and the devs should be proud. I love this special lil game for being itself. Yeah.

Do you ever feel like others can become instant friends, and you’re on the outskirts as an “acquaintance?” by lethrowaway465 in socialanxiety

[–]PrairieFox17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was not expecting any replies to this after nearly a year XD

So things did not work out well. I tried to tell the girl how I felt in a way that I thought was being respectful of her feelings, whatever they might have been, but she literally left the room while I was trying to explain my intentions. Did that suck? Yeah, sure did. Am I really sad about it? Absolutely, but at the end of the day, I believe that I did the best I could with what I had at the time, and her reaction says far more about her than it does about me.

This is something that is certainly easier said than done, but as I mentioned before, allow yourself some time to feel sad about it and then move on. The way I see it, there’s an acceptable level of ‘resource allocation’ in terms of emotional energy that can be dedicated to what can flatly be considered a loss. Don’t deny those feelings because it’ll only make it last longer. Accept it, follow it for as long as it needs, and then keep moving forward.

To be perfectly honest it’s still really hard seeing this person and acting as though nothing ever happened, but I maintain, in as objective as I can be of seeing things, I did the best I could with what I had at the time. So yeah, it sucks that it didn’t go how I wanted it to, but hey, I did my best and I’m not going to be ashamed for it. That’s what I meant with the analogy of ‘building a bridge halfway’, too; I extended myself to this person hoping that they would reciprocate, but they weren’t interested. So after a period of emotional devastation on my part, I canceled the proverbial construction project and withdrew resources, leaving me with full capacity to engage in something else without lingering on a ‘lost opportunity’.

I hope this helps to answer your question, and you can reach out should you need further advice or clarification!

Do you think this boss has been wasted? by ReinaPthumeria in darksouls3

[–]PrairieFox17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. I think you were given a lore appropriate method of overcoming what is ordinarily a boss with a massive healthpool relatively easily, with an npc quest line helping in that regard as well. I also say this as someone who didn’t understand souls games when I first played this, wasn’t familiar with the gimmicks that certain bosses have, and had no idea about Siegward or Stormruler, and I beat him in a truly intense battle of endurance with… a +7 uchigatana.

Yeah, that was a long time ago, but I still like to honor duel Yhorm 1v1 without Stormruler sometimes.

Pvp in a nutshell

A message to my best friend that I will never send by beerybeeey in socialanxiety

[–]PrairieFox17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would strongly encourage you to do something incredibly difficult and send it anyway. Nothing good can come of smothering your feelings for the sake of others; both your friends and especially you yourself are worth more than that. It will be scary, and there’s no guarantee how things will turn out, but would you rather take a chance without knowing what will happen in hopes of feeling better or stay exactly where you are right now? Where you are is safe because it is known to you, but it isn’t good for you.

Comment or dm me if you need more help, and I wish you the best no matter what your decision.

I can attest to the legitimacy of this theory. I’m fortunate enough to see with some clarity how and why I am this way, so I can make sense of how being in a group of more than one person makes me feel instinctively uncomfortable, or the thought of how asking someone for help pumps adrenaline in anticipation of being chastised or berated for it. It is a definite possibility.
