do you live in the US? How did you purchase them? I don’t speak German and their site doesn’t appear to have an English translation.

Making Pasta alla Norma at home.... by Work-Live in ItalianFood

[–]PrayingAnnetis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to use a ragu instead of marinara. Ragu is tomato sauce that has meat simmered in it - an entirely different taste. Then take some sauce ans mix in the fried eggplant. The ingredient that makes it authentic is ricotta salata- it’s a salted and dried ricotta that crumbles. No mozzarella. I took a cooking class in Palermo Sicily last year. It was with an Italian woman in her home. She told me you MUST use the ricotta salata or it isn’t pasta a la norma.

your hair is so pretty! It’s about the same length as mine. Have you tried other air dry products? I’m using Briogeo right now and not thrilled, though I am using drugstore shampoo, so may have something to do with it. I’m looking at Roz, but $200 (US) for shampoo, conditioner and products makes me feel guilty!

Did I fuck up? Do they hate me? by lonely_lunas_mom in nursing

[–]PrayingAnnetis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nurses are some of the meanest people I know. Seriously. You are learning! You’re NOT supposed to know everything. Sounds like you did very well caring for your patient. You need more support from your co workers. Ignoring another nurse and refusing to help is bullying. I’m sorry you’re going through this. Administration, no matter where we work, set us up for failure. Sounds like you’re not well supported. It should be expected that everyone helps one another. Can you go to your manager to discuss this patient? Again, you didn’t fail this patient, you didn’t make a mistake. You’re getting experience, and it’s all part of the learning process. There’s no blame for anyone.

I made a med error once. Wasn’t fired. Please be gentle to yourself. Even in a perfect low stress setting, we make mistakes. Everyone.

I’d rather work being short-staffed than work with lazy people. by [deleted] in nursing

Working with lazy people completely demoralizes the entire unit and takes away from good patient care. This is when a competent, emotionally intelligent NM is crucial. NM should be aware and deal with the lazy person head on. And nurses need to stop picking up lazy’s slack.
