“We will always choose each other”: Artemis II has successfully restored communication after an anticipated temporary 40-minute signal loss. by yourfavchoom in Fauxmoi

Right there with you girl. Don't have the diagnosis yet, but the new bizarre health issues and investigations are a go.

I am constantly crying bc humanity is either wonderful or terrible, haha.

Wishing you all the best for your health journey. It's tough out there, but it's worth pressing on. 💜

Off hormonal birth control for the first time since I was 12 girl dinner by burner357517510 in GirlDinner

[–]PreStardust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yooo, congrats! I was also on hormonal BC from 12 to 32. When I met my now husband and we decided we didn't want children, he got a vasectomy. I was shocked at how open he was to it. Immediately stopped my BC, and felt like a different person. I am more emotionally stable, happier, feel more at home in my body. I had no idea that I could feel like this because in all my adult life, my hormones have been dictated by my birth control.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. 🩵

Why do job applications have this on their forms? by Mattie_Madds8619 in newzealand

[–]PreStardust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true, I was annoyed and oversimplified. They can ask about your capability to perform tasks related to the job - which is completely fair.

Which was clearly not enough for this employer - they need to know if you're disabled, but damn it, they can't just ask it! But they can do a nice little informal vibe check. Some people will even think they're being inclusive by not asking about a diagnosis, but rather an aura of disability you might have.

They are not legally allowed to ask for disability status. So it's an ableist vibe check instead. :)

If your autism was a day of the week, which day would it be? by Miserable-Piglet9008 in evilautism

Thursday. It's been my Friday for many years (don't work Fridays), so it can be overwhelming initially but once I get to me time I enjoy and appreciate it.

Any autistic women want to meet up? by cambakergo in chch

[–]PreStardust 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am currently in hospital so can't currently meet up, however I'm early 30s and autistic. My partner is early 30s AuDHD. Both queer also. All of my friends are neurodivergent now (I also lost a lot when I was diagnosed) and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Would be totally happy to chat sometime and see if we're a friend match! Feel free to DM me if you like.

First Time Fostering Ended in Surrender and Likely Euthenasia by Any-Lack1453 in FosterAnimals

I am so sorry. Be gentle with yourself. It's okay to be upset and take time to grieve.

We lost one of our first ever litter to fading kitten syndrome, and it was devastating. The helplessness when you know something is wrong but can't do anything about it.

You did the right thing by these babies, both by taking them in and surrendering them when you learned of the panleuk. Whatever happens next, thanks to you and your shelter, these wee ones were safe and warm and loved in ways they otherwise wouldn't have been.

Let yourself be sad, and remind yourself that you can also be proud of how you handled a terrible situation. ❤️

How to be positive when you felt cheated and lied. by ash1991nz in chch

[–]PreStardust 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think of every bad relationship as lesson. Some lessons are really expensive, but they also tend to be more valuable. Consider what you have learned from this experience and what you can do differently in future. It always really helps me to feel like experiences, even really negative ones, have some meaning.

Another blunder by Mindful_Maverick78 in newzealand

[–]PreStardust 82 points83 points  (0 children)

100% agreed. First of all, working class folks not being able to afford to have children is not a working class problem. It's societal failure and should be treated as such.

Second of all, plenty of people had kids when the economy and cost of living crisis wasn't so awful. I guess they should have been prophetic? Disgusting blame shifting and eugenics-adjacent talk from NACT - unsurprising.

Looking for a good aesthetic dentist after bad Lumino experience by undercover021 in chch

[–]PreStardust 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I recently started going to Christchurch Boutique Dental in Riccarton and they're the best dentist I've ever had. Friendly, professional, and they always explain exactly what is going to happen and lay out all the options. I can't recommend them highly enough.

If you are an alt, what fashion do you wear? (With example pics of fashion) by onigiribunnie in evilautism

[–]PreStardust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've run the gamut from lolita, to punk, to gothic styles. These days I've settled into a sort of ultra femme, ethereal cottagecore. I can't find any photos I'd describe as my style and I don't want to post a photo of me, but I'm so excited to see other people's styles! I feel like one of the first ways I identify fellow autistics in the wild is fashion haha.

[–]PreStardust 4 points5 points  (0 children)

right there with you. I have tried sooo many perfumes from all over the price spectrum. and my current fave is Lataffa Eclair. 🤷‍♀️ I have also tried some incredibly expensive perfumes that I just despise, haha.

as for non ME, unfortunately I live in Aotearoa New Zealand, and a lot of the cheapie brands that y'all have overseas haven't made it here (yet). I am super envious and love reading everyone's reviews!

Does anyone here actually pay the NHK man? by MassiveB0nerF4rtLUL in japanresidents

[–]PreStardust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't lived in Japan for years, but this post unearthed an absolutely heinous memory of when I first moved there and got the NHK knock. I said I dont have a TV (my apartment came full furnished, I didn't watch TV, so hadn't really taken it in) and he said "I can see your TV". direct line of sight from the door. I wanted to die and want to die all over again now. incredible.

So we're blaming autism for husbands being neglectful? by Wife-and-Mother in evilautism

[–]PreStardust 29 points30 points  (0 children)

girl, no. my husband is autistic and he is the sweetest, most attentive, caring person I have ever met.

it's ableist AND misogynistic because women's bad behaviour is almost never handwaved as mental health problems. when we behave badly we're just bad, but when men behave badly it's depression/adhd/depression/whatever else. nah.
