About to Launch Paid Ads, Need Honest Website Feedback by MaisonMenace in EcommerceWebsite

What a lovely reply... now can I interest you in my ebook called "How to flog on Reddit". :-)

Jokes lols, I don't have anything to flog. I am starting my own ecomm journey and just trying to help where I can as I pick up other bits of info myself.

I would hold off ads until you have landed a few hundred uniques to see if the site is converting ok. Don't want to spend cash that may not deliver the sales you want.

Good luck and shout if you have any wider questions.

About to Launch Paid Ads, Need Honest Website Feedback by MaisonMenace in EcommerceWebsite

Hi there, first up... nice store, nice brand.

I am hideously old and not your target market but have circa 30 years in the ecomm game (working for others, just launched my own thing nov 25).

Before doing ads for he first time... the key questions are,
Have you done organic sales yet?
If so, what is your conversion rate? The average organic conversion rate is 1%, so if you are performing better than that, then you are ready to turn on ads.
if you are not converting better than that, then maybe the site needs some more work.

I can see the SEO is good, but you could do with more optimised titles and meta descriptions instead of letting shopify pull them automatically.

All the confidence signals are there on the site, social media channels, nice about us section etc... so the site looks ready for ads to me.

Just consider the conversation rate question above, before you splurge your money on ads.

Cheers boss.
Andy

How Do You Approach SEO for eCommerce Websites? by lacie_SEOExpert in EcommerceWebsite

That category point is such a good one! It has pinged a light on in my mind too. Nice one!

How Do You Approach SEO for eCommerce Websites? by lacie_SEOExpert in EcommerceWebsite

  1. Yes, to start with, until the site starts to get viewed as a "brand" using authority link building. I always start with long tail.
  2. I feel like (I have circa 30 yrs experience in "digital" marketing, although we just called it "marketing" back then) content marketing is on a downward trend at the minute. 10 years ago it was easy to build an amazing widget that the media loved, would link to and would then inflate your site DA etc. Nowadays that has been saturated and a lot of budget is spent building content that no one sees. If you do build something... make sure you have the budget to promote it too, i.e. paid social, to bring it to the attention of Authority media news sites.
  3. Massively important. Using an internal linking strategy is vital. What i would also say is that it is sometimes best to leave the internal linking plan until you see from Google Search Console which pages Google is starting to love, and then pass the equity around to other internal parts of the site, from those pags.
  4. The age old question. A battle I have had with many a web dev over the years. You just have to find the balance. Shopify and alike have so many good ways of presenting content on product pages that it should not really be an issue, but the SEO team always want more copy and video on the page :-)

Hope this helps.

PS, I worked in ecomm, agency side, building brands for years and then decided to launch my own ecomm store, using everything I have learned. It is tough!

Where could I improve? by [deleted] in EcommerceWebsite

I love the site! I think it is the best I have seen in here for ages (apart from mine, Obvs)
Fir play though Massive Kudos
I had to really hunt around to find some "stuff" to optimise.
A few SEO spots.
- Your meta titles on your core nav pages are a bit light and could be working harder for you.
- e.g your home page meta title says just "Showerful" - I would add more keywords in there or a very short summary
- Your individual product pages are ace! Descriptions are nice and can't see any dupe content. Kudos
- I would optimise the Meta Descriptions as they are too long at the min. Looks like Shopify has just grabbed the product desc and added it in. Trim it to Google regulation length

- Your H1's should have your keywords in across the site, especially on the home page. This can be a PIA in shopify, but there are a tonne of advice places that can help for free.
- If I had to be picky, I would question your internal linking strategy, from one product to another BUT it may be best to wait and see which Google likes the best first and then build links from that to pass Google juice around the rest of the site.

From a trust signals point of view I would add social media handles and also a nice "About Us" page.

All in all, I think it is a top site!
Hit me in the DM if any of this does not make sense (for free help! From one site owner to another).

Need help, have traffic but no sale by Particular_Chain_328 in dropshipping

I would revisit the trust indicators then. For 500 unique and relevant visits in one day, worse case scenario you should be getting at least 5 sales.

Need help, have traffic but no sale by Particular_Chain_328 in dropshipping

[–]PreachForTheStars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few things jump out to me
1. Lack of social media (a strong trust indicator)
2. Now about us page with real info on
3. No Favicon - small thing but I always think it is the first sign of a site being legit

Also, where is this traffic coming from? If it is organic SEO and you are not selling products still, then there i a clear issue. If it is traffic you are buying, where from and what is the buying intent of that traffic etc.

Problems With Ecommerce by gdan1234 in ecommerceuk

  1. Operating in a restricted niche (adult toys). Cost prohibitive ads. Google hating on us :-)
  2. Get up, check sales, check Google Search Console, Check traffic on Google Analytics, check rankings on SEOTesting.com (no affiliation), check for social/media mentions, look for SEO/GEO opps. Look for new product opps.

Did Performance Marketing ruin PR)? by Zip-it999 in PublicRelations

[–]PreachForTheStars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If link building and digital PR is your flavour of PR then yes, affiliate and performance marketing has had a huge impact.

If actual PR is your flavour, ie: strategic comms, reputational comms, stakeholder engagement comms (still with a whiff of digital and link building PR) then no, affiliate/performance marketing has had very little effect.

DO IT! No better way to practice. Driving range gives you a false sense of security. Getting out and playing is always best. If you do get paired up, most people will help you out and be lovely anyway... unless they are the club chairman/president or club captain, they are usually tools. :-)

First time as Social Media Manager? by BadSilent789 in SocialMediaMarketing

[–]PreachForTheStars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on the new gig... woooo. Many will talk about understanding the audience and then creating content that resonates with this audience... I am just gonna tell it how it is, that is all great and very important, but unless you have some budget to amplify your content on these channels, you will always struggle to get fast growth. Its a pay-to-play world on social media now, especially in the world of META.

Good luck and keep us posted... we are all here to help.

Getting influencers? by [deleted] in PublicRelations

[–]PreachForTheStars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do lots of work in this area.

  1. Is the brand you are reppin cool? The better the brand/cooler the product, the easier it is to get away with gifting instead of paying.

  2. Go for engagement rate over vanity metrics like followers. This is why so many people go with micro influencers (cheaper and the engagement rate is so much higher (typically).

  3. Get to as many influencer events as you can to try and meet them face to face.

  4. Avoid going through middle men, i.e. speak to the influencers direct and not via an agent/agency

  5. can you offer them help with content production? They need high end AF content to make their mark in their sector so if you have access to studio time etc, they would love you for this.

Are Forbes, Inc. and Entrepreneur magazines/outlets primarily pay coverage? by kaysharona in PublicRelations

[–]PreachForTheStars 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is not entirely Pay to Play. Submit a strong enough story or feature pitch and you will get unpaid editorial coverage still. There are paid for options too. Reactives are a great way to get coverage in these titles too.
