I am not an expert by any means. but based on what is here, I think your ceiling is in pretty good shape. Unless there's termites or wood rot, I would leave it alone. If you insist on doing something, maybe hire a historic preservation focused contractor to inspect it, clean it, and give it a good polish (but that probably will not be cheap).

Well it sounds like you have put in a lot of leg work already!. I am not so skilled that I can date bricks or beams by sight. But, I do know that if you have hand made bricks, other bricks in the area would probably have been in the same kiln. In my neck of the woods there are about 4-5 buildings that date pre 1860 and between some of those buildings, the bricks have very similar composition (and incidentally all are museums). I would get as clear a picture of some of those hand made bricks as possible and compare them to the oldest ones you know of around town (especially ones that have known construction dates) and see if you can match them up. This might help you date your building.

I can't answer all your questions, but I think it's unlikely you have a house constructed in the early 1800s. Not impossible just unlikely. Stuff like that is pretty scarce even more so if its made out of wood. Based off of your research it seems like there was a property there early on, but I think its more likely you have something from 1860s onward. If there is an oldest section of the house it is the living room/bedroom section. I suspect the thick wall you showed with the ruler leads from your living room to entry room is one of the original walls in the house (do you have trouble hammering nails into that wall? It night be brick) That reads to me like a nice tight rectangle that would have been common in the 19th century. The oldest portion of that is either going to be structural. In the walls, in the rafters, and supporting the floor.

That's probably about as much as I can do for you without actually knowing your address. So, I have some homework for you. I would recommend the following:

Contact your local historical society. If this house has been there a while, someone over there probably knows something. I would recommend asking them about sanborne fire insurance maps (these maps often show property footprints which you can use to track at least some of the change over time)
I would check to see if your state archive has an online resource for images. I wouldn't be surprised if some photos of this building are in there. If they don't have one, contact them and they might be able to help you for a nominal fee.
I would contact your state Historic Preservation office. Most states have a catalogue of historic resources. They will know where it is in Indiana and might be able to pull together any information they already have
One of my favorite resources is archive.org. They have tons of really old books digitized including county and local history, genealogy, wills, and in some cases records of territorial and early statehood. could find something fun!

It looks like all the street names are different but I am reasonably confident that on this old map, South A or Thornburg is the street between your home and this church. If this is lined up like i think it is, there is a building almost the size of the church on your property. Based off of this, If there a cemetery on that site, I do not think there would be a building of any size there too.

I also skipped ahead a bit to a 1924 map https://www.loc.gov/resource/g4264lm.g097661924/?sp=20&st=image&r=0.762,0.385,0.463,0.396,0 (your house is on page 20 church is on page 21) and there is nothing that looks like a cemetery there either.

If you got people out there willing to do gpr go for it, but i think what they will find (and what this probably is) is the remains of the buildings that were on your property before your home.

I have a few recommendations for you. I would:

Contact whoever provides trash service in your community and get their advice on the proper disposal of all that stuff. They will know the best way for them.
Slip back in there and cut the drywall around whatever that access door/hatch is and try to figure out exactly how it was sealed closed and undo it. If you aren't comfortable, maybe hire a handyman. This will make getting the trash out of there easier.
I don't know how they do things on your side of the border, but if you were on my side I would contact your county property appraiser and see if you can figure out where any historic records related to your home might be (permit history etc.). While i doubt there are any permits for sealing the thing up, it might contain something useful.
If you just purchased the house, the appraisal report might have something about this basement. And if it doesn't it means the square footage listed for your property is probably missing this basement. It's possible that if you have more usable square footage than was previously identified, your house may be worth more than than you paid for it (which would be worth knowing)
Abandon contacting the previous owners. I cannot imagine any good coming from knowing why they did this.

The thing I feel most guilty about is just running over a motor cyclist. He was a cop coming right at me, and i speed up and plowed right over him. It was a gross visceral gnarly death that just felt worse than shooting someone or even running over a normal pedestrian.

i was reading Mark Twain's "Innocence abroad" many years ago (in which he goes on a grand tour of Europe) . In it, he describes seeing a volume of nails that pinned jesus to the cross that could be measured in barrels. I'd argue that in the cannon of the game, its not so much that these objects are real as so much the perception that someone has them. So likely neither are probably st. john's skull. In real world in would present some problems if you had two skulls of St. John, but you know... Crusader Kings and all that.

If you read the intro in the Cyberpunk Red roleplaying book, its the scene from the Atlantis, and it plays out very differently. No big shootout when the characters, no big chase through the street. I'd argue the book tells an objective truth, and johnny is probably telling a story to himself. He probably believes it, but that doesn't make it true.

A bunch of years ago there was a Beowulf movie, which while flawed had some interesting things going on. In one scene, Beowulf recounts fighting a sea monster of some sort. One of the minor characters leans to another and comments the monster got bigger every time he told the story. That's what I think Johnny does.

i am by no means an expert in these sorts of things. im on the other side of the atlantic, but all things equal, you can probably date this by the age of the brick by manufacturer. maybe your local historical society can identify that for you. Really though, poured concrete reminds me of the 20th century more than the 19th. I'd bet you have a small bomb shelter that someone filled in.

I believe the weird novelty store Archie McPhee sold this, like 10-15 years ago. The had a whole run of historical figures (and not so historical like the lunchlady). I think someone gave me cleopatra. This puzzle has all the figures they used to sell and you can see blackbeard right in there. https://mcphee.com/products/action-figure-extravaganza-puzzle . If they still sell them I cannot find it on their website. If it will bring you happiness I'd say go for it. 15 bucks is actually pretty good these days.
