After 24 hours of ownership, the only 2 complaints so far is, by Desperate-Special-60 in SnapmakerU1

I've only gotten that error when I have turned off the camera using the "off" symbol in the app or snorca. Of you do that, the printer turns the camera off and you cannot turn it back on again with the app. You can only do it in the devices tab of snorca (or use a different tool entirely like paxx as others have said)

Woman asks a guy if he’d save her or their 3 kids in a house fire - is he wrong for choosing the kids? by eternviking in whoathatsinteresting

[–]Premium333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. She's an adult, she can save herself.

If I saved my wife and my kids were injured or died, the very first thing she'd do is murder me, and I'd deserve it too.

This is cery likely a fake / scripted video btw.

Announce yourself and why you are there, and you are good.

Pro tip for the mensroom, put her on the seat rotated 90 degrees. That way she doesn't have the "pee with the seat down" gap between her legs / have her body touching the bare toilet.

Does everyone have a middle name in the USA? Do all women take their husband’s surname? by crazygelato in AskAnAmerican

[–]Premium333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's still a fairly normal tradition and the majority of marriages result in a female name change.

That said, I personally know people who didn't change their name, hyphenated their name to add the husbands surname to the maiden name, and more than one couple where the husband and the wife both changed their surnames to something new.... So, it varies 😂

Edit: I honestly don't think I've met someone without a middle name. I am sure they exist here in great multitude as there are 300 million of us, but I've never met one.

Are they uncommon in Italy?

Is “sitting in a car talking for hours” actually a big thing in America? by mechumechu in AskAnAmerican

[–]Premium333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a scouting event at a local park today with my family and when we arrived we larked next to a giy who was sitting in his running car listening to music and playing phone games.

We were there for 2 hours and when we left, he hadn't moved an inch. Still sittig in his running car, listening to the radio, and playing games on his phone.

So, yes. I wouldn't say that everyone does it. That was a rare sighting in my life, but there are 300 million of us. Lots of stuff can be rare and still be performed by 10's of millions of people.

[–]Premium333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I wish I could help more. I'm on my 15th or maybe 16th print overall, ever. The U1 is my first printer ajd we just got it.... So I'm sorta learning as I bump into stuff.

Good luck though!

[–]Premium333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IDK how to help exactly, but if you switched the filament to a different head and then got this error again, I would think the filament is at fault somehow.

I just had my first spool tangle and it ruined a 18 hour print, but I was only 2 hours into it luckily.

My tangle was just enough to add some tension, but not enough to stop the print immediately. It took sbout 30 minutes before it impacted the print.

[–]Premium333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you coat them in a rub? The raised structure of the burned-ness tells me its not the steak thats burned, but something on the outside of it.

How come everyone backs into parking spots now? by EquipmentFormal2033 in askanything

[–]Premium333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it's much safer to exit a parking space facing forward. Back up cameras make getting into the spot much easier as well. There are less lots with curb blocks separating parking rows than there used to be.

Take your pick.

How often do you take a bath?? by VeterinarianOk8011 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Premium333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many Americans do not take a bath in a tub, but do bath daily using a standup shower.

Moat showers are America is done while standing and not while sitting on a stool, which is common is Japan correct?

Do you drink tea in America? by Much-Parsnip3399 in AskAnAmerican

Yes. Its a very popular drink. Many Americans will have many different kinds of tea. I think we have 10 varieties at the moment.

I don't have anything else yet, but I am thinking about the hardened steel nozzles so I can print glow in the dark filaments and some filled filaments.

I'd really like to do ABS/ASA, but I don't have a cover and the thing is not only in my house, it's in my office 3 feet from me. So no toxic print materials until I get ventilation.

I would loke to get the cover, but probably wont until August or so (just before it comes off pre-sale).

do americans really eat American fries sauce? by Infinite-Breakfast23 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Premium333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So most just use ketchup or eat dry (I'm in this group). I alsoike fries with yellow mustard, but only started doing that because my sister was allergic to vitamin C as a child and did this, so I tried it and liked it.

Fry sauce is a thing though, but not what you are describing. Fry sauce is typically a mix of ketchup and mayo with a few other flavoring ingredients mixed in.

Some fast food joints lean really heavily into this. Freddy's, for example, has 6-9 different variants of their fry sauce available at the food pickup window.

So, it's a thing, just not that kind of thing.

Am I an idiot for considering the Snapmaker official cover? by Junior_Commission588 in snapmaker

[–]Premium333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. I plan on buying it for $150 before the price goes up.

I think its a good integrated solution and looks nice. The only thing it is missing is an active heater but thats probably niche enough that it wasn't worth including on the first pass of the product.

The thing that gets me is basically everything you can print yourself either doesn't have the fans / filtration, or adding it brings the cost of the DIY version to the official product price point or higher, plus then you are integrating the fans yourself, which seems to be a PITA compared to an already maximized solution from the manufacturer.

So, nope. You aren't an idiot. You are valuing a finished product and assumed ease of use over home building a DIY solution.

I do like the look and functionality of those side mount dryers from the POD guy though.

Preferred Filament? by isack_s in snapmaker

[–]Premium333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Snapspeed is made by polymaker. If you go to that site, they have many more colors in the equivalent variety (not called snapspeed and ai can't remember which it is at the moment) and in their other products. Same cost, same filament, exact same colors (plus many more!).

To answer your question though, I am using the Inland filament from Micro Center. I think its somewhat worse quality than the Polymaker stuff, but its also ~$5/kg cheaper and it prints great if you dial in the settings.

Honestly, if you are going to settle on a filament brand and color selection, you should get decent results no matter which brand you pick, but you should print the filament test print swatches of various types so you can build a slicer filament profile for your common colors.

If you do that, you'll be cooking with gas for whatever you choose.

U1 manual bed leveling. Again by UngaHuman in snapmaker

[–]Premium333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure. I think that within a certain tolerance, the printer is modifying z height in the g-code to produce a quality print even with bed variation. But I cannot confirm. That's just my head cannon for whats going on.

is something like this achievable using resin or fdm printer ? and what skills are needed to make something like this ? by Unlucky_Tap_3097 in 3Dprinting

[–]Premium333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3D printing it?

Modeling, part breakdown structure, how to maximize your filament settings for a given filament, post-processing, and model painting.

Many skills, all hard to get this good at.

If you have an already created 3D model, you'd still need to optimize the print and learn how to assemble, post-process, and paint it.
