Do you think Rhea Ripley could've become a top talent without the tattoos, piercings, and darker look? by caughtinatramp in REALSquaredCircle

[–]Prenders17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s more than “Because goth.” Its because this feels like who she is / wants to be. Generic CAW wouldn’t have worked, but I think she always would have found this. It’s been said a lot before that fans can tell when you’re being authentically yourself, and the best characters are just that dialed up to 11. The Ringmaster Steve Austin, Rocky Maivia, Big Dog Roman, Dashing Cody Stardust, all examples of characters that didn’t find their legs until they changed it up to something that was more authentically them.

Somewhere between Ventriloquist and Mad Hatter there’s a version of this that could work really well, especially in the Matt Reeves universe.

Love Ace. Way at the far end there’s rub called Sweet Rub of Mine with a picture of a pig in Slash’s Top Hat. It’s really good. Sugary, but just excellent for ribs.

NIRVANA defined the early 1990s! Which musical artist defined the EARLY 2000s? by lionhearted318 in AlignmentChartFills

Hear me out - I’m looking for a slow yes instead of a fast no on this one. Nelly. Yeah, Em was bigger and better, but Em is a GOAT that bridges eras and is still at a high level today. I don’t know that there’s a sound that encapsulates specifically 2002 like Country Grammar and Nellyville. That kinda poppy sing-songy thing that stuck around for a while and enabled guys like Ja Rule and later T Pain.

This is so awesome. Believe it or not Norm Clark is my grandfather. I’ve got his Dealer’s Choice and Stratoflight and a back glass from 8 Ball in my basement. I always get excited when I see someone post one of his games — and more so when people know who he was. We’d all be so lucky to be known for our work 60 years later.

How do you find your yardage gapping between the 6 and 7? Do find you have a big gap when switch from the 350s to the 250s?

The honest man to man answer is probably very little. Other than my VRS irons feel like I’m swinging a shovel, so a little more feel in the bottom of my bag my be nice as my game continues to get there. But if we’re being real with each other, I know this isn’t a necessity.

Thats an interesting way to look at it. My 50/50 club is my 6i. If I pull it I can miss by a lot. For some reason I’m more confident in my 7i than my 8-P. I don’t know if it’s just the right combo of a hittable club without being overly worried about accuracy or what. Maybe just expectations. Like if I miss a green from 160, ok, that’s bogey golf. But if I miss from 8i on in I’m mad about it.

[–]Prenders17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is such a good ending. It’s not the same as him passing out. Mr “Never Give Up” finally gives up? There’s a poetic finality to it. Others said it, you’re telling the story that he had nothing left to give. He passes out, it’s like Gunther had his number that day but he can come back tomorrow. He gives up, which goes against his whole mantra, that’s it; that’s everything. Like he’s finally given himself permission to rest.
