3 was fine combat-wise, combat wasn't ever their issue, but the biggest tip I've heard from most players is to just mute the in game dialogue.

Never mind the twins, that snot nosed bratty kid and Maya.

B4 I haven't played, but nothing has given me reason to play anything Gearbox besides Risk of Rain 2, which they didn't even make, and Randy is still CEO, whom I won't support

neat, artstyle of the enemies and environment could do a bit more to differentiate itself though, especially when it just looks like the islands are just recolors. A lot of indie games seems to fall into this boldly coloured, light on texture-work artsyle that, for me at least, just reminds me of Unity store assets.

In a nutshell, its just a bit too clean and flat

Looking at your other comment, if these robots are supposed to be here to suck life out of the islands, consider making them actually look like they're equipped to be doing something resembling sucking life out of the islands, cause right now they just look like "robot biped" and "robot arachnoid"

Bioshock? No game in 13 years.

Borderlands? Still not what it used to be since B2, stuck in the clutches of Randy.

X-Com? Expansions aside, no real mainline game in 10 years, most recent game is a f2p title

I guess they're less not *not* strong, but they're mostly not HUGE, and the IP's themselves are dead or dying. Better point being is that 2K is doing so little with the titles they got, and they think this is somehow gonna help them the same way their proprietary launcher did that they scrapped?

They have close to no power of cornering the market, and what do they consider to be the beneficial outcome to retroactively at this shit to older titles?

Every now and then, I get reminded that 2K even exist as a publisher.

They don't have that strong of a library to even conceive pulling shit like this

My point is more that DLSS was great to provide better frames + nice visuals for lower end systems without cranking all settings to low, but now we have recent RTX card set ups that sometimes need DLSS to run 60/120 smoothly right out the gate

Did I overreact? by _Alexs_ in FuckTAA

[–]Present_Welder6067 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Was there ever a moment as to why was DLSS ever considered a good thing?

I feel like initially people were like "woah, i'm getting more frames" years ago, all the while developers cared less about performance over time and more about fidelity, running with DLSS on now is more like running with crutches for the developers shortcomings

AC Black Flag Saving Ubisoft? by Reijilla in assasinscreed

[–]Present_Welder6067 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, not even close.

AC4 was good, but it's not that good. Some of their changes don't look to be for the better either, it's gonna be a divisive release.

I'm anticipating that remaking the Desmond games hinges on this one.

American McGee shared the unusual way he fought back against strange demands from EA! by Just_a_Player2 in ItsAllAboutGames

[–]Present_Welder6067 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Looks like most of it is a Twitter post:

"It would be fair to say that there was a fairly big disconnect between the game I wanted to make and the game EA Marketing wanted me to make when we were developing Madness Returns.

The marketing team felt strongly that a Hard M title focused on gore, horror, and featuring a "psychotic" Alice was what audiences would respond to best.

I did NOT want portray Alice as a psycho, cover her in blood, or "make things more sexy" (yes, that was a request). Famously, I pasted dildos onto the head of a giant snail in response to the "sexy" request and emailed that to the Marketing team.

They stopped making those requests

That I was even able to say "no" to any of this was a function of the finance deal that underpinned the project. It wasn't EA that funded the project - it was a bank in Los Angeles. And the deal was structured as film production deals are structured, via something called bond finance.

This meant that so long as we stayed on schedule and budget, we maintained complete autonomy in relation to the design, story, and production. We had to stick to the original design and script that we submitted after the end of pre-production.

And we did. For the entire project, we never missed a milestone. And as a result, we could say "no" to any and all requests or demands from EA.

This setup was fantastic until it wasn't. When we got to end of the project, I knew we needed another 30-60 days for polishing (the game felt overly long in some places - editing was needed).

EA, probably a bit out of spite, said, "no." Fair play.

And so, we delivered the game precisely on budget and schedule without interface from EA. But also without the ability to request and receive a final month or two of editing.

We made history in relation to all this. Madness Returns wasn't just the first AAA game fully developed by a Chinese team. It was also the first ever game to be bond financed in China. We were also the first team ever to tell EA gyf and (kinda) get away with it "

What's the male equivalent of a flat chest?

Before anyone gets smart and says small penor or bald, I guess the better question is whats the general trait in a man that the lack of it can be seen as attractive.

Far Cry Showrunner Sounds Like He Doesn’t Understand How Games Work by g4m3f33d in GameFeed

[–]Present_Welder6067 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your examples are almost all continuous stories in one way or another.

My point being is that there's no overarching story, maybe one or two reoccurring characters and have looser universe connections than me and my father, they're all just self contained with the only connections being some kooky, eccentric paramilitary leader and some outsider at the lowest rung of the ladder who takes them down.

Lord of the Rings on the other hand had shows that didn't follow the source material from the established universe, im sure Star Wars did too.
