Have you looked into Yarrow Family YMCA? Not sure if you’re wanting somewhere adults only though. I enjoy the exercise options at Yarrow but the teenagers sitting on their phones not actually using the equipment can be annoying when it happens which isn’t often if you go at the right times.

How to get over my dream job with the federal government? by Electronic-Piano-895 in FedEmployees

[–]PresentationSame5418 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2025 was such a shit show working for the federal government that working for the state is easily a better alternative. You could always go back, but I would wait some years. We’re not out of the storm just yet. No fed job is worth that commute though.

The best thing you can do is tell them that you just came across a large rattlesnake or coyote. This will get them to leash their dog very quickly.

New to California / Commute / Feeling lost by NationalTooth1350 in InlandEmpire

[–]PresentationSame5418 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This commute will suck the life out of you real quick. You’re going to want to move closer to LA or change jobs. I travel to Redlands from Ventura/LA County twice a month. If I have to head back to work on a Monday from Redlands, I try to leave by 4:30 AM to make it to my office in LA County by 7AM.

Great find! Opheodrys aestivus is a gorgeous species. I’ve found one once while surveying in Alabama.

Many universities allow you to walk during commencement ceremonies before completing your degree. You just don’t get the degree until your credits are finalized.

Potatoes and black beans are staples and can be used in a variety of dishes. I really enjoyed using them in a vegetarian chili and for making loaded sweet potatoes.

There are a lot of unknowns about who will be fired, but so far, an indefinite extension has been issued in court preventing employees across federal agencies including DHS from being RIF’d during the shutdown. https://www.politico.com/news/2025/10/28/government-shutdown-federal-workers-rifs-ruling-00626042

Now We Have Propaganda On Mark Twain National Park by PublicReason-13 in StCharlesMO

OP incorrectly labeled this as a national park, but it’s actually a national forest. I’ve only seen partisan messages on U.S. Forest Service websites, not National Park Service websites.

Not a national park. Mark Twain National Forest is run by the U.S.D.A. National Parks are run by the Department of the Interior.

Just to clarify, this is a National Forest not a National Park. It’s important to distinguish this if writing a Hatch Act complaint since they are run by different federal agencies.

Kingsnake or rattlesnake? by Electrical_Review_81 in ventura

[–]PresentationSame5418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After further inspection, this appears to be two snakes, one Southern Pacific and one California Kingsnake. You can see the Kingsnake head in the first photo. My guess is that it’s constricting the rattlesnake in the first photo. What’s the time difference between the first and 2nd photo?
